Cowtown, You should realize just how poor your argument is because you are getting owned by stubbs. ouch.
I love it when teams claim they are better, but lost because a certain player was out. That makes them incredibly thin at certain positions, and thus a poor team.

AA=All American. Sorry for the confusion.
I never said Alabama lost because one player was out. I said losing Andre Smith had an effect on the line play. Are you saying that losing a starter doesn't effect a teams performance?

We had a couple key injuries in the Utah game and I have not heard one person use that as an excuse. Would we have had a better chance to win? Sure. But we still had our chances on the field and failed. 'Bama had their chances too and failed. Every team in the nation could use injuries as an excuse at one time or another. Hell, the Ravens and Steelers have used IR the most in the NFL and they have the top 2 defensive units in the entire league.

Please show me where I said Alabam lost because of injury?
They lost because they didn't play as well as Utah. Utah was ranked #6, Alabama was ranked #4. Hardly a huge upset.
Not like Ole Miss beating #8 Texas Tech or unranked LSU beating #14 Ga. Tech.

I don't think anyone, including you, can really think that the LSU or Ole Miss wins were bigger than the Utah win.
If you do think that, then it proves that the SEC is inferior because they are hanging their conference hats on two irrellevant bowl games.

I think if you want to judge a conferences OVERALL strength you have to look at all results. Of course, if I were a Big 12 fan I would tend to disregard this since my conference has showed so poorly thus far.

By the way, Mike:
Ole Miss was the SEC West #2 seed. tceh was the Big 12 South #3. Seems to me that if the conferences were even equal, that ole miss should win that matchup. the fact that its considered an upset shows how far ahead the Big 12 is at the moment.

So, you admit that the Big 12 was overrated all year? Glad you have come to your senses.
How do you rank Texas over Tech, when Tech beat them? Of course the Big 12 also chose OU over a team that beat them...strange.
In the SEC we settle things on the field, not in the media.

The truth is that even in a down year for the SEC, they are still stronger than the Big 12 in its greatest season ever.

No, I am saying that a higher seeded team from a conference that you claim is the greatest shouldn't have to "upset" a team that finished third in their division.
If the same thing happens in the SEC, you take the third place team in BCS rankings and eliminate them. Then you use head to head with the other two, even though the third place team beat the one who goes to the championship. Tell me how this is better? Its still decided by pencil neck reporters and the media, it would have chosen texas over ou, though. That probably would have been worse for Florida.
