Uh buddy...SEC is 5-2 right now.
wins: Vandy LSU Georgia Kentucky Ole Miss
Losses: South Carolina Alabama
The Mountain West is probably the fourth best conference in the country. Their top three teams would compete in any conference.

Okay, so you will be 5-3 and the big 12 will be 5-2 if they win out, the big 12 will also not have losses to the MWC, and a blow out to Iowa. Advantage, Big12.
I am still in shock (not really since your argument requires it) that you are suddenly in support of a mid major conference.

I try to keep an open mind.
The Big 12 South will have losses to the SEC (2), the Big 10 (joke conference), and the Pac 10(one team league and they didn't even play that team (USC)).

The real argument is the Big 12/SEC. The fifth best team in the SEC completely dominated the second best team in the Big 12. In their own state. Let's not lose sight of that.

A couple of things you might need to pay attention to:
The SEC will have losses to the mid Major MWC, a blow out by the Big10 (joke conference, I think you said), and the Big12 in the National Title game.
The 2nd best team in the big 12 plays tonight.
Your argument of "utah had everything to play for and Alabama had nothing" is more applicable to the tech situation. Either way, its a piss poor argument. It shows that a team is not any good.
Oregon will end up in the top 12 in the nation, maybe top 10.
This is the weakest argument you have ever made (assuming OU wins). If Florida wins then, by all means, the SEC is better.

Tech beat Texas. I'd have to say they were the 2nd best team in the Big 12.
Utah is legit. No doubt about it.
Texas is no sure thing to win tonights game and Oklahoma has lost 4 BCS bowl games in a row. The Big 12-South is looking at 0-4.

They might very well be 0-4. If so, I will not make ridiculous excuses (cough cough) about them not having anything to play for etc. etc. and will not try to play up the MWC or anyone else.
However, if the Big 12 wins out, there should be no more discussion on this matter.
However, texas is at least the second best team in the conference. All rankings have them in front of tceh. Some even have them in front of ou.

Exactly, the only test is on the field where the SEC totally whipped the ass of an overhyped Big 12 opponent.
If OU beats Florida, it will simply even the score.

Alabama had nothing to play for, Utah had everything to play for. The Sec has no reason to be ashamed of anything. It's not like they are the winless Big 12-South, who some proclaimed to be the greatest division in college football. That is the worst argument ever and is only being used by SEC homers and violence-against-women-advocating Bob Ryan. They had a lot to play for-most importantly pride. They tied with LSU for most Sugar Bowl appearances. The SB is their home away from home away from home. It's practically their own backyard. Their fans out numbered Utah fans 2 to 1. I got news for Alabama. You haven't won a MNC in 16 years and only two in the last 30. You're not entitled to anything. Be very happy that your program is where it is right now. All of a sudden you sound like Texas who has one MNC in 35 years. The teams that even remotely have the right to say that are OU, Miami, and USC. Even still, you tell USC that they didn't have anything to play for in the Rose Bowl. It comes down to the character of your team but judging by your coach I wouldn't guess you have a clue as to what that is. I read where a Birmingham columnist wrote that 'Bama was heartless. Teams are reflective of their coach and that comment is entirely inappropriate. Words such as gutless, soulless, spineless, pussy, coward, and rat bastard are entirely appropriate. However, despite my utter contempt for the snake, I have never been given any indication that he does not have a heart. Snake Saban was giving excuses after the game and I wanted to strangle the bastard. He said they came out w/ no intensity and Utah picked up on it. It sure was nice of 'Bama to allow Utah to gain some intensity. It was nice of 'Bama to ignore their 60000+ fans who put a second mortgage on their doublewide just to go to the game. Then he made the excuse of not having Andre Smith. This coming from the same a-hole that said Utah wasn't from a "real" conference. So Utah doesn't have any players that 'Bama would even think of recruiting, yet one guy goes out and all of a sudden the whole OL goes to hell. That just doesn't add up Mr. Saban. How about trying something other than a 5-7 step drop with your slow QB? He just needs to man up and admit that he got flat outcoached and his players were outplayed.

Losing Andre Smith was huge. Utah doesn't get the sacks or put the pressure on Wilson if Smith is there. He is the best OL in the nation and will be one oof the top picks in the draft.

If OU wins, Utah could very well end up as the #2 team in the nation. If that happens, TCU will finish top 6 or 7 with their only two losses being to the #1 and #2 teams on the road and two more wins against teams who were top 10 at the time. Boise St. could still end up #10. Despite the fact that it should have been us playing in the Sugar Bowl had we not choked away the game in SLC, I am very, very pleased with the year TCU had. Two losses and a top 7 finish. Couldn't ask for much more than that.

I thought the SEC had only 4 and 5 star recruits? Don't they have 55 other guys who could step right in and stop Utah's 2 and 3 star recruits?

I don't think it's possible to replace an AA with another AA. Dumb question. Next.
