I don't see how you figure that the Big 12 would be down if the ACC and SEC were up. They don't share many recruiting areas. Yet another stupid assessment.
Anyways, if a one loss mid major makes a BCS bowl, look for huge shake ups in the NCAA. In fact (I've called for this for a while) the BCS conferences will one day defect from the NCAA and make their own league. They don't need to split the money with all the little guys (tcu).

This shake up will happen. Just a matter of time. It will be the end to semi-bigtime football at schools like TCU.

Hey, I've said it before, why don't they just create their super league instead of having whipping sticks like NTSU, MTSU, SJSU, and SMU? Then they can just play each other and the MNC can have 2-3 losses every year.
And the up and down is just the way it goes these days. Besides, I don't see where you think the SEC is down this year when they have 5 teams in the BCS standings as of this week. Along with the B12, they have the most. Next is MWC, B11, and the ACC w/ 3. The Big Least has 2. Pac 1, MAC, WAC, and CUSA each have 1. So lets say the ACC, Pac 1, and B11 each add a team. Tulsa would definately drop out and the other two teams would probably be other BCS teams (most likely BE teams or Ball State-even though they are in front of TCU and BYU, the voters only have them that high by default).

So, you're saying TCU and BYU could beat Ball St?

Sully, don't even bother me with a dumb question like that. They had their hands full w/ Miami O last night until the last quarter. They haven't played anybody and that includes B11 Indiana.

I don't know how to make you understand this...
TCU cannot beat a big time team. Ball St. vs tcu would be a helluva matchup. Just like utah vs tcu was.
By the way, the ACC should have about 4-6 teams, the Big East should have 3-5, and so should the Big11. The Pac10 should have 3-4 as well. Add that to the 5-7 the SEC should have and the 4-6 the Big 12 should have. Then you have anywhere from 22-25 of the top 25. That leaves, maybe, slots 23,24,25 for the cinderella, play no one, mid majors.
That is what is traditionally the case. Look it up.

TCU would wipe the floor w/ Ball State as would BYU, Utah, BSU and even Tulsa. Ball State benefits from being right in the middle of B11 country and the midwest voters.
You're right, they usually don't play anyone. But you have to give TCU some credit for scheduling OU, UT, Tech, LSU, Arkansas (even though that will fall through), UVA, Ole Miss, Ohio State (they backed out to play Navy next year), and even Baylor. They are in talks with FSU for a home-and-home and have been trying to get a date w/ PSU for a couple years but it hasn't worked out on both sides. Most of the so-called BCS busters don't play anyone.

While we're at it, lets give credit to NTSU for scheduling Texas, OU, Tech, LSU, Tulsa and KState.
Hell, let's give Chatanooga credit for scheduling OU, or Western Kentucky credit for scheduling Bama.

Those are money games for NTSU. They know they are going to get their clocks cleaned. TCU, OTOH, could schedule softies in a sorry attempt to go 12-0 and to a BCS game. They know that they are taking a huge risk but do it anyway. This year the voters gave them a ton of cred for going to play at Norman.
I think @ LSU is for 2013 and they are supposed to come here in 2014...we'll see. FSU should be finalized next year. There in 2010. Here in 2011.

You're going to have to get Jerry to rent you his stadium. Good luck with that, since it would give LSU more exposure in Texas...not something Jerry would like to see happen.

Let me add, TCU schedules these games (texas, OU, etc..) for the same reason NTSU does. To make money. That's what kept your program afloat back in the SWC, nothings changed.
