The way TCU is going right now, CUSA might be the best option.
TV games, and some of them are actually winable, with the exception of Houston and Tulsa.

TCU, Rice, SMU, and Tulsa should petitition the Sun Belt Conference for inclusion.
East
Troy Florida Atlantic Middle Tennessee Florida International LA-Lafayette LA-Monroe
West
Ark State SMU TCU Rice North Texas Tulsa
Pretty sweet little conference right there.
At the end of the year the champion goes against the winner of the Lone Star Conference.
What do you think?

Yeah, with the way they are going. I don't think this will be a 2 or 3 year trend. '01 and '04 were crappy years and they bounced back with a 10-win season the following year.
The MWC promised that the mtn. would be available on dish providers nationwide but they are available only to people in Utah, Nevada, and NM. The mtn. is a Comcast network and the deal with Time Warner was supposedly not mentioned in the negotiations and his the MWC by surprise...so they say b/c DFW is the only TWC market in the conference that Comcast sold. It's turned into one big joke. Comcast also owns Vs. and almost didn't allow TWC to carry it. If that would have happened, TCU would be an independant right now searching for a home and losing money out the ass. Comcast also runs the NHL network that was supposed to launch nationwide on 10-1 but wasn't ready and it's only available in Pittsburgh, Long Island, and Orlando. They had to pay the NHL a $15 million penalty for not making the deadline. I think there's a $5 million penalty if they don't make November. The whole thing is doomed. The MWC should merge with the WAC and have a 12-team conference. Add Boise, Hawaii, Fresno St., and UTEP.

I've seen some bowl projections that have TCU playing Arkansas in the Armed-Forces bowl. That would be pretty sweet. Now, we just have to hold on and win 3 of the last 4...

Seems like it would be difficult for Arkansas to get in what with them not being a member of the MWC or Pac-10? www.armedforcesbowl.com/gameday.html

The Pac-10 may not be able to fulfill all their openings. A few weeks ago when Nebraska had a prayer it was thought they may go to the AF Bowl. I'll try to find the link. And no, I'm not on board with your Sun Belt idea. TCU should not be in the same conference with SMU and UNT.

Do you feel TCU to be superior to SMU in football? Series record doesn't show that: TCU holds a 40-39-7 record vs SMU. This years game was decided by TCU blocking a punt and returning it for a TD. The game in 2005 was an SMU victory. mcubed.net/

SMU was in the game for about 11 minutes. Once TCU blocked the punt and tied it up, the game was never in doubt again. Granted they outgained TCU's offense but TCU averaged a net of 41.2 yards per punt and SMU had a long field all night. They held the ball for 36 minutes but the defense remained fresh all night. Once TCU went up and then by two scores it was obvious that TCU had control of the game even with a stagnant offense.
Overall, the records show that the schools have a fairly equal history. Both have two national championships (SMU doesn't like AP aparently). Right now TCU is far superior in football than SMU. They beat them in recruiting and in the win column. Sure SMU found a nut in '05 but over the last 10 years TCU has dominated the series and this year SMU is one of the worst teams in D-1.
