Ags are ruling the Big 12 now.

Ags are ruling the Big 12 now. That's why Texas is a national seed and A&M isn't. But, congrats to them anyway on a great season and hosting a regional. I think they got a pretty good draw. TU has UC Irvine, #10 in the nation. TCU got a bad draw in their regional. They go to Rice along with Baylor. That's one of the stronger regionals.

For the tourney, they just seed the top eight. The regional hosts aren't neccessarily the top 16 teams. Long Beach St. hosts a regional and they are near the bottom of the top 25. If A&M didn't win the Big 12, TCU probably would have gotten a regional and A&M would have ended up in Fayetteville or Missouri. Does that mean TCU is better than A&M? No. TCU got whipped by the Aggs in CS earlier in the year. Ole Miss got a regional too and they are ranked 25. They do some screwy things with the tournament and how they decide who gets to be a host. I guess they didn't want 4 regionals in Texas and TCU was the odd man out.

TCU shouldn't host a regional. Ever.

I do wish there was one close by though. I would love to watch some college baseball all weekend.

TCU shouldn't host a regional. Ever. Why not? They have one of the nicest stadiums in college baseball. A metropolitan area. Plenty of accomodations.

So records aside, how are Coastal Carolina, Wichita State, Long Beach State, College of Charlston (not this year but in years past) more worthy to host a regional?

I think TCU could certainly host a regional in baseball. We went to a game there this year and I was impressed with the facility.

It's all about where they are seeded in their grouping. The top seeds get the first oppurtunity to host. If that top seed didn't submit a bid to host, then they won't get it. Or the committee will not reward the regional due to many reasons:
facility flaws, torn up field, or #2 seed in regional has superior facilities
You can't put records aside in the process. The selection committee looks solely at this year's performance in the decision for hosting the first-round regional.
Baseball is a talkin' sport.

When I said never, I was just attempting to rustle someone's feathers....Mission Accomplished.
If they have the better record in their grouping one of these years, I'm sure they'll host.
