I don't know much about scoring bucks but this one scored 144 B&C. He was 4 1/2 years old.

4.5 is a good age to shoot one, isn't it? Yes, meat might be a little tough in some parts but that's it. Also he has had plenty of time to spread his seed. |

144 is a good score.
130 and up is pretty much a trophy. 160 and up is a lifetime buck. 160 - 170 and higher are record book bucks.

I try to hunt wherever I can. The last 2 years i've managed to get drawn on Federal Game Reserve hunts. I did not get it this year. So I'm trying to find somewhere to go, since i'm on 9 days vacation starting friday afternoon. It sucks man. I really need to split some hide. I'll take hog or deer. |

Meat will be done in about 10 days. You can enter those drawings at tpwd.gov or read your outdoor annual.
