Especially when you can just plug someone in at DH for a game if you don't want them standing in the field.

You have to take the positives with the negatives. He was playing the averages. Usually, he is right. That's how we won two consecutive pennants. If Moreland would've come up and whiffed the last two at bats, people would be griping because Wash should've pinch hit for him because "everyone knows he can't hit lefties." As far as resting Hamilton, he had played 13 games in 13 days and Wash felt it was time to let him rest. I will definitely defer to the coaching staff and people who know what they are talking about on this one. He was playing the percentages but he prides himself on going by his gut. His gut should have told him Moreland was seeing the ball real well today. Plus, you were tied at home. On the road you probably make that move but not at home and not in the 7th inning. Moreland is probably a better defender too. No one would fault him for choosing Moreland over Snyder in any situation. For Hamilton, he had a 16-game hitting streak. I don't think he was pressing. I thought the squeeze was a great call and they caught a break when Elvis failed to execute. But the late inning moves were head-scrathers and it bordered on over-managing. It goes against how Wash has managed the last two years.

I question the exact same moves that everyone else does. And yeah, initial reaction is REALLY??? But I'll defer. I do agree that "resting" in baseball is kind of ridiculous. Its the least physically taxing game there is. Why not rest people in June and July when it's crazy hot?

Also, you haven't got a clue whether or not Hamilton was pressing. Wash might've thought he was, and he knows a helluva lot more than you or I ever will about baseball. That is my point.
I question the moves, sure. But I defer to the expert who has made a career (and a very successful one) at making those calls.
Maybe his "gut" said pull Moreland. And yes, there would ALWAYS be people like you who question the call either way. ALWAYS.

Well, I defer to the Great Gerry Frailey and he didn't think Wash had a good game.
So every time Josh presses he should get an off day? Last year Cruz was going through a rough stretch and Wash said he was pressing. Instead of resting him he left him in there because "this is somphing he have to work through."
Look, I like Wash. Is he a good in-game manager? No. Is he bad? No. But what I have a problem with is he won't hesitate to pat himself on the back when he makes a good move but when he is wrong he will never admit fault.

That's every pro coach you fool. And it's because idiots ask him the same stupid questions everyday.
I'll say this: I don't think the rangers would be back to back al champs with anyone else as their manager.

The aspect of the players wanting to play for him and do anything for him is what makes him great.

Yes. And him giving them rest is a huge part of that. And his gut feelings. And the winning

Something is afoot. This is the most uninspired ball I've seen in probably 5 years.
