Well, it doesn't even matter since Mike is now a FW Cats season ticketholder. He doesn't have time for the Rangers.

Cowtown will never turn his back on the Ranger. The Cat is just more affordable.

Something is still not right with this team. I suspect some clubhouse issues. Norm will hit on this later in his show. I don't buy Wash's reason for pulling Oswalt with 2 out in the 4th the other day. Whatever is happening behind closed doors is slowly spilling out into the field. The way they're playing right now they won't make it out of the first round. Don't be fooled by yesterday.

It shouldn't but we know how fragile Josh's psyche can be. He was riding a significant hitting streak which ended because of a failed pinch hit appearance. He was in a groove but Wash said he was "pressing." Josh was 17 for his last 35. I wish the entire lineup was pressing. Since then, Josh has had modest hitting streaks of 4 games (twice), three games (three times), and 2 games (twice). He even had an eight-game steak but had a total of 8 hits in that steak and hit .250 (8-32). Tonight he hit his first double since JUNE 20. He has not had more than 2 hits in a game since May 11. Prior to that he had 8 games with three hits or more. I sent an email to Junior outlining my theory and he read part of it on the air. Here are some interesting numbers since that day: Hits in 29 of 51 games. 18 extra basehits of 41 total hits. 24 runs scored 58k’s 8 multi-hit games espn.go.com/mlb/player/gamelog/_/id/4652/josh-hamiltonBy contrast, the much maligned Michael Young since May 17th has: Hits in 37 of 54 games 25 runs scored 17 multi-hit games 3 games of more than 3 hits espn.go.com/mlb/player/gamelog/_/id/4566/michael-youngI’m not saying Young has been much better than Hamilton during this stretch…I’m just giving a point of reference from a guy that is struggling as well. By contrast to Gentry since the 17th: Hits in 23 of 38 games with an official AB (16 of those he was a late game replacement, including 11 games of only one AB) 11 multi-hit games OPS of 1.088 in June and .788 in July, compared to Hamilton’s .754 and .569. espn.go.com/mlb/player/gamelog/_/id/30267/craig-gentryI go back to that day in May as the day it started to go wrong. They were in the middle of a 10-game stretch against KC, OAK, SEA, and Houston. Wash used this stretch to give a lot of his regulars a day off and it resulted in going 4-6. I think Wash saw the schedule and took for granted that his team could still win if he sat a few guys. He used the excuse that it was getting hot but only four of those games were truly outdoors. The other six games were at Houston and Seattle. I just didn’t like the decision to rest Josh against a divisional opponent when he was in the middle of one of the greatest power streaks we’ve ever seen with an interleague opponent on deck. It didn’t make sense then and it makes even less sense two months later now that we’ve seen how the division is playing out. Had they gone 7-3 rather than 4-6 they’d be enjoying a 9-game lead over LAA right now. I know it’s hindsight to look back at what could have been but I think since that day Josh has had a hard time concentrating and feeling comfortable at the plate. I realize now that May 17 wasn't just the day it started to go wrong for Josh; it was the day it started to go wrong for the team. This is something I shared on another board: May 17. That was the turning point of the season. I used to think it was Josh's turning point but now I see that it was a pivotal point for the team as well. It was a day game...I remember it well because I called in sick to go with some buddies of mine. Two game series at home against Oakland. Josh and Nellie were given the day off. Wash said he wanted to give Nellie the day off because it was getting hot. The high during the game was 90. The next 7 games were in Houston (3) and Seattle (4); 6 of those were under a closed roof. Wash said Josh needed the day off because he was pressing of late. Josh was 17-35 over his last 7 gamesand this was a week after his 4 HR performance against Baltimore. I believe he was also in the midst of a 16-game hitting streak. That day marked his profound two month slump. The Rangers lost to Oakland that day in 10, 5-4. Wash grossly mismanaged the pen and the lineup as he tried to rest players through a 10-game stretch against KC, Oak, Hou, and Sea. They went 4-6. If you zoom out he rested players all throughout May and they coasted to 17-20 from May 1 to June 9. After that they kicked it on and finished 17-8 through the All Star break. I think that 6 week stretch set the tone for the rest of the year which resulted in a consistent up and down performance. If you take out the 13-2 start and the 17-8 finish of the first half the team is three games over .500 the rest of the year. They have played fantastic baseball for a total of 40 games this year. For the other 121 they have been very average. I hate to point all this out because it discounts the amazing accomplishments of Oakland but the reality is that this team should have finished with upwards of 100 wins. That is why I believe this team has underachieved.

can't argue with a thing you said. Tip your cap to the Oakland A's.
oh, and Hamilton is a cancer to this team.

There's no reason why this team shouldn't have won 100 games. Tomorrow Profar should play 2nd. Olt should play 3rd. Beltre DH. Nap catch. Young at 1st. Gentry in CF.

They'll lose tomorrow. This team is done. I'm the dumbass that spent 1400 on the playoff strip thinking maybe, just maybe, we'd get back to another WS. Now I'll be waiting in line for a refund with the rest of them bandwaggoners. Dammit! Lose Josh and Nap and trade Kinsler. We still need pitching, and this team hasn't even been hitting lately. Build around Beltre, Profar, Martin and Yu. Here's to 2014, the year the Rangers finished business.

We can't afford to play Young at first just because Wash has to have him in the lineup.

Josh was the a-hole that dropped a massive dump and not only didn't flush but left the door wide open.
