This is partially sports relevant. How do we feel about all of this pub A&M is getting due to the female trying to be yell leader? Think she should be one? Think she will? I didn't think she had a chance until I've seen all the news this making. What is the buzz around CS Finch?
Also, dance team at football games? Girls are so mistreated that they have to F with tradition. Finch, you should be a Diamond Darling next year. That'll teach em.

I don't get the Aggie objection to having hot coeds dance in provocative outfits during football games. You are in the SEC, get on board.

No idea why this girl is getting so much pub. She isn't the first woman to run for yell leader, but I guess someone decided this was a story.
The reaction on campus is pretty tame compared to how the media is portraying it. Most students don't care about yell leader elections to begin with, and this has done little to change that. I haven't heard a single guy show anything more than indifference about her, they really couldn't care less. The women on the other hand think she is nothing more than a attention whore and are pretty adamant that they don't have any problem with yell leaders being male only.
Personally I don't care either way. I have no problem with her running, but I would bet 50:1 she doesn't win. If she does, fine, as long as she can do 113/114 push ups and doesn't mind a bunch of dorky Corps freshmen tackling her and carrying her to fish pond after wins.
As far as I can tell the dance team deal is all born from Texags. There are a bunch of internet dorks there that think the Corps gets too much pub when the Ags play on tv and they think that putting the dance team on the sidelines will somehow change that.
Again, I really don't care. I have no problem with the way A&M is represented and I don't think the dance team is going to change that. As long as they stay on the sidelines and don't f with the best half time in college football it won't matter to me.
And last, I think I would make a damn good Diamond Darling, but unfortunately this is my last semester as a student.

As far as I have seen there isn't really any objection, but there also isn't much support either outside of internet dorks. I just don't see the point of it, A&M already has one the best atmospheres in college football, the dance team isn't going to add to that. Other than parents of the girls, there is not one person on this planet that goes to a football game to watch the cheerleaders/dance team.

I think what he's saying is that aggies show up to watch the game. The only reason to look at the yell leaders is to make sure which yell they're passing back.
