I'm ready to do some fishing this year. Let's get this going. Can I 3-peat in 2012?

I'm thinking a trip to a different lake is in the cards. Maybe Ivie. Fork for sure.

That's easy for you to say. All you have to do is hop in the truck.

If you had a buddy with a boat that was willing to drive as long as you gave him company, what would you do?

you have to be fishing with another competitor in the LSAOY for it to count. Otherwise I would never have lost it.

no. Again, if that was allowed I would never lose. Simply because I go fishing way more often than everyone else.

I don't want one of those. I have a big boy boat.

Trip #1 was a bust. Went to the lake on our day off yesterday. Cold, windy, cloudy...about got blown off the lake. Spent 2 hrs out there then had an afterparty at hooters. Good times.

Trip #2 was not a complete bust. We at least caught a few and a good buzz.
Fischer and I started the day pretty hot on Saturday at the great Lake Fork. I caught a 1 lb'r early on, then we got into 3 more mid-morning. All under 2 lbs except for one I caught at 2 lb 4 oz. Then, we spent the rest of the day catching a good buzz. Finally, just before dark, I caught another 1.5 lb'r to take the lead, 3-2.
We murdered 6 lbs of crawfish and some fried catfish that night, plus several more beers, then Scheu joined us. Saturday was tough for Fischer and I, but Scheu entered the LSAOY tourney in a terror, catching a 10 oz'r early morning. We got rained on most of the day, but in late afternoon, Scheu hooked into a big girl. He boated the 7 lb 1 oz'r to take the outright lead in the tourney. Fish over 5 lbs are worth 2 points, over 8 are worth 3, over 10 are worth 5 and over 13 are worth 10. I hooked up with a big one but got wrapped up in a tree and never saw her before she got off. The day ended in a drunk stupor with no more fish. Day 2 - Scheu 3 (big fish tiebreaker), Sully 3, Fischer 2.
Day 3 was a beauty. Perfect sunny weather and water temps climbing. Fischer boated one under 2 lbs early on. Then got another one around noon. I hooked into another big one and the fight was short. She surfaced 2 times and wrapped up in a tree then broke the line. I'm terrible at boating good fish I hook up with. Fork has now broke my heart 3 times. F me. Final tally after this trip - Fischer 4, Scheu 3 (big fish), Sully 3

One glaring inaccuracy, but overall pretty close.
Both my fish on Saturday were over 2 lbs. The first one was 2 lbs and change and my biggest was 2 lbs. 9 oz. Which is important because your big fish is your tie breaker. Meaning, if I tie with sully, tbhen my big fish trumps his at the current time.
I also missed a big girl on Saturday to join in on Sully's misery of getting skunked AND missing a good one.
