What most people don't realize is she felt terrible for screwing up. After she got off stage and into her dressing room she supposedly started crying and didn't want to do anything but go home. She didn't even stay for the game cause she was embarrassed and was home before midnight. Seems to me she was pretty torn up about so I will definitely give her the benefit of the doubt. She's still cool in my book and let's be honest that's all that's important.

I've been asked to sing the national anthem at a Ft. Worth Cats game and a Frisco Rough Riders game and turned down both for fear of something like that happening to me. And I've known the words for a long time. This I would rather burn myself with matches than sing the National Anthem in front of a stadium full of people. There would be no way I could make it through with out screwing it up. Hell, I know the words left, right, up, and down. But if some random person came up to me in a crowd and asked me to sing the words I would probably screw it up. It's not near as easy as people think.

All those show biz types stick together.

EYB messing it up at the kansas city chiefs game was worse than CA. But for real, stop trying to be all soulful about it and just sing the song and maybe you'll remember the words instead of where you have to scream, holler, insert bravado, etc... whats pissed me off more is people going "it's cool. i dont even know the words, i'll be honest." WTF people! Show some damn pride and understand what Francis Scott Key was feeling and thinking when he wrote it. Maybe understand why it was written... maybe I'm just out of control with my patriotism. Well I generally go for the more simple versions too. But like with the EYB thing, there is no way in hell that he doesn't know the words. And I know he was prepared. He's a pro. But when he fumbled the words you could have offered him a million dollars for the next line and he wouldn't have been able to come up with it at that moment. Your brain locks up, it's terrible. I've been asked to sing the national anthem at a Ft. Worth Cats game and a Frisco Rough Riders game and turned down both for fear of something like that happening to me. And I've known the words for a long time. Mike's also the same dude that couldnt remember the words to two of his own songs on his live album. Maybe I'm too biased against him lol. I think he'd make a helluva cover girl model though!

Double Pow! On a side note I saw the story about CA on the old TV. While we are talking about bad national anthems do you guys remember that girl screw up real bad here at a Cowboys game a couple years ago. Her name was "kat" Deluna and here is the link. Not only does she sing it like it's a pop song but she dances to it......yes dances. I watched it live and couldn't believe it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cf1HMZbTcz0

There is no need to make it into a pop show.
