I was thinking about this after thinking about the half-time show. And I know everyone's entitled to their own opinion on this. But the girl is human, it could've happened to anyone. I've heard some people calling her unprofessional, and that is ridiculous. She's one of the most successful entertainers in the world. She was prepared. And I think that she finished so strongly after her flub is a testament to her professionalism. I think it would have wrecked the rest of it for most folks.

Gagree. Its not like she meant to. I heard someone call her unAmerican. Thats just dumb. She had a brain fart. Just happened to be on the biggest stage during the National Anthem. Just bad luck.

haha, according to sully its one of the biggest stories of the week and is a key reason why the Super Bowl here in North Texas was a "disaster"

Not a key reason. I thought it was good, and said so after we heard it. Its just a contributing factor to the negative media coverage we're getting about the whole scene.

What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last reaming?
People screw up. She kept on going. That's what's important . I would imagine though, that in that moment, she felt incredibly small.
Black Eyed Peas.. Meh.
The sound was shittastic. Fergie singing GNR made my heart sink to a new all time low. I bet Axl had a damned aneurysm.

I've never understood why people so bent out of shape when people make a mistake singing the National Anthem. I give here credit for making the mistake and still finishing the song. I'm sure once she skipped the words she probably wanted to run of the field as fast as possible, but she stood there and finished.

It would have been better if she would have had a Janet Jackson incident.

Settle down. My point is that you sited it as one of the 3-4 reasons that the super bowl here was an "epic fail." You were making it far more important than it was. Not surprising. Then you turned around and said it wasn't a "key" reason. The fact that you flipped sides isn't surprising.

EYB messing it up at the kansas city chiefs game was worse than CA. But for real, stop trying to be all soulful about it and just sing the song and maybe you'll remember the words instead of where you have to scream, holler, insert bravado, etc...
whats pissed me off more is people going "it's cool. i dont even know the words, i'll be honest." WTF people! Show some damn pride and understand what Francis Scott Key was feeling and thinking when he wrote it. Maybe understand why it was written... maybe I'm just out of control with my patriotism.

The only problem I had was her imitating Patti Labelle. No one puts Patti in the corner. Only Patti can turn a two syllable word into a three paragraph essay. CA needs to get her own original bit instead of stealing others.

WTF people! Show some damn pride and understand what Francis Scott Key was feeling and thinking when he wrote it. Maybe understand why it was written... maybe I'm just out of control with my patriotism. Well I generally go for the more simple versions too. But like with the EYB thing, there is no way in hell that he doesn't know the words. And I know he was prepared. He's a pro. But when he fumbled the words you could have offered him a million dollars for the next line and he wouldn't have been able to come up with it at that moment. Your brain locks up, it's terrible. I've been asked to sing the national anthem at a Ft. Worth Cats game and a Frisco Rough Riders game and turned down both for fear of something like that happening to me. And I've known the words for a long time.
