The Stubbs' and Sully's made it out to Pennington Field as the Broncos kicked off their 2010 season with a 30-20 loss to the LD Bell Blue Raiders.
The game was much closer than the score indicates, but a few costly mistakes and penalties is what did the Broncos in. Fischer's secondary only gave up 85 yards through the air, but Bell's running game was tough to stop with Farrow gaining 248 yards on the ground.
A late fumble in their own territory recovered for a TD hurt Legacy's hopes for a comeback win. The first half was even at 13-13 before Bell just pounded it on the ground in the second half. I thought it was a good first 5A game for the team, and saw a lot more offense than I had seen in the past two years. Josh Doctson was covered up by double teams all night, but still managed a decent game and a TD.
Both safeties, Mitchell and Simon, had great games.
We had a lot of fun, and hope to see another couple of games this year.

Hasten had a good game at QB, too. And it may have been Mitchell that was getting all the double teams at wide out. I can't remember.

Mitchel only played 8 snaps on offense.
Good write up, btw.
also forgot to mention our kicker's woes.

When I texted you about the kicker, you responded with 'thanks for the advice', very sarcastically. So, I left that one alone.
Since you brought it up...
The kicking woes will need to be addressed this week in practice. I think Shimp went 2-3 on extra points and missed 2 or 3 field goals. It was crazy, every kick except for 1 or 2 hit an upright. Luckily a couple banged in.

Its just kind of funny getting advice from a real estate broker.
Saying the kicking wasn't good =/= texting someone that they have a lot of work to do when talking about their job.
I wasn't mad, but I was sarcastic. You have to see it from my angle.

I guess you haven't figured it out yet Fisch.
Once you become a football coach, and no matter how long you are a football coach, you will never know as much about the game as the fans do. Just accept it and hope every fan you met will be nice enough to talk to you about how you don't know what you are doing and give you advice about how you can improve.

Finch... I know you're right. I wasn't mad at sully and I knew that wasn't how he meant the comment. I was laughing at it because it was more like a "duh" statement.
Db, that is good technique... But it doesn't fix our kicking woes
also, sorry Sully for calling you a real estate broker. Didn't mean anything by it.

Coach, surely there are some male foreign exchange students at Legacy that can kick a soccerball. Put some pads on em' and teach them how to boot the pigskin.
Soccer players are kickers.. They'll figure it out.

The two we have are soccer players and have extremely live legs. The problem is they are soccer players and chili up in pressure.
Even our kick off guy screwed up a deep left kick off 3 times and it messed our coverage up royally.
When he kicked off correctly they started at the 9. When he choked they started at their 40 and their 35. Not good.
