New thread for the hunting lease goings on. We take off for our 1st Annual Lease Kickoff Party this weekend. Friday through Sunday is gonna be madness. It's gonna be a beer drinkin, gun shootin, campfire firin, smoker smokin, varmint killin, tank fishin, heck of a good time. We'll be scoping out some hunting spots. Catching a ton of fish. Shooting a ton of clays. Sweating like no other in the 100 degree heat.
Lonestar Angler of the Year totals will be increased dramatically. On top of that, we'll kick off the Official Keystone Light Unsmooth Moment of the Year competition. Each trip to the lease will have a candidate that we'll all vote on at the end of hunting season. Official winner get's a Keystone Light beer at room temperature with their name and year written on it with a sharpie. Or something like that. We'll keep totals of all things shot for the (Sponser yet to be determined) Hunter of the Year too.

While we were driving around the place yesterday, we saw several deer in the heat of the day. Here is a doe and her twin fawns. She wouldn't run away since they were there. You can barely see the two fawns behind her standing in the grass.   |

Great first weekend out at the lease. Got a little bit of work done, drank way too many beers, and burned the crap put of my hand. All in all it went about how I expected.
Oh yeah, Fischer also let a 7 foot rattle snake get away because he couldn't figure out how to load his new shotgun, rookie mistake I guess.

I was trying to walk between a concrete column and Sully's grill when I started to fall over. I fell into the grill but didn't want to knock the grill over so I used it to steady myself. My left was on the lid for about three seconds but that was all it took to burn my finger tips. A minor set back but it didn't get in the way of our fun so it wasn't too bad.
Sully has a pic on his phone that he said he would post sometime.

HA! Yes, at that point I had drank a few beers, but judging by the pain in my fingers after it happend I wasn't drunk enough.

Also forgot to mention that I shot a jack rabbit in the ear from 200 yards while standing up with no gun rest, it was an ok shot I guess.
