Radio and rain are so much alike. Only get a little when the clouds are just right.

Ok, I've changed my mind on the i93/KTCK speculation. Something is definitely afoot at the Little Ticket. It wouldn't surprise me if in 6 months something dramatic happens that alters the future of the station forever. The sound quality is getting horrible. The engineering staff hasn't a clue. I hear that the chief engineer is severly unqualified. The on-air grumblings have gotten more frequent and they were told they can no longer tweet about this issues other than to say they're working on it. The other day Danny tweeted to Grubes that he got out at just the right time. The stream goes in and out all day. Danny said that the problem is at the corporate level and there's nothing they can do locally to fix it. However, the streams for WBAP, KLIF, KSCS, the Wolf, and i93 are fine. Beginning Friday, Cumulus will be exclusive with I Heart Radio but I don't think that has anything to do with it. Several contracts are up for renewal at 105.3 in the next several months. Most of the hosts probably have non-compete clauses but with the money CBS is pouring down the drain at the Fan money is obviously no problem.
This isn't the end but I feel that we are seeing the beginning of the end.

With the incredible ratings the ticket gets, how is it possible to let this thing circle the drain. Some suit is screwing up something big.

Surely it won't go away. Someone else will buy them up.

Those guys onthe Ticket especially Bayliss and Corby are ALWAYS bitching about something. God, I hate Corby.

I read a lot of radio banter and industry talk and Cumulus is referred to as Cluemuless in the instrusty. Who knows?

If the ticket had the financial backing that ESPN and The Fan has they would be even more dominant.

They could probably rival KISS overall. I know someone in the industry who said a couple years ago Mike and Corby were literally hours away from leaving the Ticket for the Fan when Cumulus ponied up a reasonable offer. It may not be far from happening now.

That would be funny if the entire Ticket lineup just changed over to the fan.

I'm thinking Bruce Gilbert may be hedging his bets on that. He hired Bob and, I think, Dan as well. He was the PD who moved the Musers to AM and the Hardline to afternoon drive. Was also the PD when Norm moved from KLIF.

Is Bruce Gilbert responsible for the Fan?
