as for Wash...who made the call to pitch to Renteria with two outs, first base open and the #9 hitter on deck? Didn't his first game winning HR make any impression?
I'm not like you other guys, I don't have 30+ years to wait for another shot at a World Series. Big disappointment. Fail.

SF was just hotter and outplayed us. Can't nitpick on certain calls that didn't work out. Thats the way baseball go. Sucks. But we just got straight up beat. Their pitching was sick.
Yes Hamilton had a horrible series. But they would have been done in September had they not had him. Same for Vlad (cause he sucked in the WS). And yes, who wouldn't trade Hamilton for an Ace? But you can't discount what he did this year.
Wash never got credit for anything this year, not from me, not from anyone. I don't think its fair that they were in the WS and all people can do is complain about what he may have done wrong. He deserves some credit.
This can't be a fail cause none of us even thought they would be in the WS. It was a fun ride. It was a step in the right direction. Its huge for the franchise.

We just ran out of luck and good AB's.
Mike - We went to the World freakin Series! C'mon! Helluva run! Hamilton for Lincecum is a no-brainer, sortof. Cain struggled this year and Bumgarner had one good outing. Lincecum will end his career with a arm injury in the next 3 years. So, I'm not sure I'd do any of those.
I had one hell of an experience last night. Parlayed my standing room ticket into a seat 21 rows up from 3rd. It was awesome. I'll spend more time on a post later.

BTW, I heard Wash and Molina called for Lee to pitch around Reneria after he got down in the count 2-0.
Lee shook em off...

Monday was one hell of a day for me, personally. The Rangers were playing in the World Series. I couldn't stand to let this chance sneak by without going to a game, so I went on the prowl for a ticket just to get in the ballpark. After Sunday's loss, Monday morning tickets dropped on StubHub from $300's to $200's. I kept checking, but throughout the day, they started creeping back up and selling. I kept an eye on craigslist, and responded to about 5 ads for SRO tickets. Most were asking $200 each. I offered $100 to all of them.
Next thing I know, I get an email from a lady that says 'call me'.
I call right away. She says they tried to see the tickets for 200 each, and got 3 of them sold. They had one left, and were on their way to the ballpark. She'd give me that last one for $100, if I'd meet them on their way. I got my ticket.
I'm flying pretty high right now. I'm going to the World Series to watch the Rangers! Remember the lists we made a while back on here? That was high on the bucket list, and I was crossing it off. I'll try to find it.
Anyway, I scramble to get home and take care of the dog and change clothes. Grab some beers and head to the ballpark. Meet up with Stubbs and family to tailgate for an hour or so, then walk to the ballpark, alone. I was solo on this trip, but it didn't matter. In fact, it was better. I get to the park, grab a hot dog and a beer and walk up to the standing room only section on the lower level, behind third base. I squeeze my way to the rail and admire the WS emblem on the field as the teams warm up. I work my way down to the FOX pregame set and watch that a while. Then, settle into a spot down the stairs. Closer to the field. Watch Charlie Pride sing a hell of a national anthem and the flyover. Watch the Bush's throw out the first pitch.
I get booted from there in the 2nd inning for blocking the stairway. So, I wander down toward home plate. I see an open seat on the aisle, so I make my way down toward the field and have a seat. Only one open seat there, so being along paid off. I'm about 2 sections over from third now, toward left, and 28 rows up. Meet the couple next to me that says the seat was their's and they didn't think their buddy was coming. They were horse trainers from Tulsa. Good people. We enjoyed the next 2 innings together, before I was tapped on the shoulder. Their buddy showed up, and it was Tuff Hedeman, 3-time world champion bull rider. They introduced me and we chatted in between innings for a bit, before I thanked them for the opportunity and headed back to SRO.
By now, it was the 5th inning of one hell of a pitchers dual. Fun game to watch. Lee and Lincecum were both throwing nails. I decided to give it another shot, since the SRO area was really crowded there. After I grabbed another beer, I made my way closer to home plate, and sure enough saw another open seat on the aisle. I walked down. The ushers weren't paying any attention at this point, and I had a seat. Right above 3rd, row 21. I had a seat and told the people there I was SRO, but thought I'd give it a shot, and asked if the seat was taken. They said their buddy went to the Cuervo Club and I was welcome to sit there until he came back. He never showed. It was awesome.
What a night. We lost the game and the series, but we were there. I don't know if I ever thought we'd be in that position this soon. And now they've given us hope for years to come. I can't wait til Spring Training, and this is gonna be the most exciting offseason we've ever had. GO RANGERS!

That's cool that you met Tuff Hedeman! I had a blast at the game, too. Here is a picture of me and Justin at the game.

Stubbs will be smited every time I get a chance for that swindle job he did. Gave me a parking pass that all lots were full on, sold me tickets to the family section. Profited off of me. Smite #1 Allow my to respond. 1) I had no idea they were in the family section. In fact, when I bought the WS tickets I clicked "best available (family section)" and the tickets weren't in the family section. 2) I'm sorry the parking lot was full...that sucks. 3) My total cost with the parking pass for your 2 tickets was $151. I made $9 off you. 4) I charged the folks I sold my other two to considerably more without the parking pass. 5) The seats weren't any cheaper than any other section in the upper deck. All were the same price. 6) Had you bought them from anyone else on craigslist, Stubhub, etc. you would have paid considerably more. 7) You texted me afterwards and said that it was one of the greatest moments of your life. 8) I have been to 5 playoff games and have yet to see a victory. 9) I probably saved you a few bucks by not buying beer.
