On another note. The ballpark was a big disappointment. It was shockingly quiet from the get-go. The Giants had a big group up in the very top of the 3rd deck behind home plate and they were super loud. They were chanting something when every single one of their players came up to bat. It was really sad. Something has to change there to get the crowd loud cause evidently we aren't gonna do it on our own. "Deep in the Heart of Texas" just doesn't get people pumped. Neither does that ridiculously gay "antlers" song. In my opinion they should have gotten rid of the the "antler" cam, the whiffle ball bit, the kid stealing third bit, "the Twist", and all other corny bits that are there to entertain regular season crowds. This is the WS and they did the same old bits that they do vs the Royals in April. The whole presentation should be about that game of the World Series and not the kiss cam. I wish the crowd here didnt need help, but they do, and silly bits aren't gonna do the job.

I almost fell off the deep end after game 2 myself, Mike. I got back up a bit after 3, but down again last night. However...after sleeping on it, I'm back in good spirits.
This is the Rangers in the World Series. It's been an incredible year. And it's not quite over yet. This team can put the past behind them better than anyone. I'm confident we can win tonight, and even win 3 in a row. Do I wish we won last night and hit the reset button on the series? Hell yeah. But we didn't. The Rangers are in the World freaking Series! Get behind them while you still can. It's only for three more games (hopefully). Then, we'll have the most exciting offseason ever.
I heard really bad things about the ballpark last night. You could tell in the broadcast. Rangers fans need to step up and get behind this team tonight. The sad thing is, every tom dick and harry that has extra entertainment money bought a antler/claw shirt and kept a lot of good fans out of the ballpark for the series, and don't know how to stand behind their team. It's pathetic really. But, this isn't a baseball town, so what do you expect. They can mark the World Series off the bucket list, and sit on their thumbs all night.
Not me. I'm ponying up $100 or so today for SRO tickets and losing my voice at the ballpark tonight. I will not go quietly into the night. GO RANGERS!!!

This email from Chuck Greenberg today...
This season has transcended expectations and transformed the psyche and hearts of legions of Rangers fans across Texas and throughout our country and beyond. At the core of the remarkable journey we have shared together is a ballclub and a community who collectively have consigned the conventional wisdom of the past to the dust bins of history, busting myths and charting a new course previously thought to be unattainable.
Can't pitch successfully in Rangers Ballpark. Wrong.
Can't compete successfully late in the season because the heat will break you down. Wrong.
Fans will lose interest when training camp opens. Wrong.
Fans won't come to Rangers Ballpark after the All Star break because it’s too hot. Wrong.
Rangers can't win a playoff series. Wrong.
Rangers can't win a playoff game at home. Wrong.
Rangers can't beat the Yankees in the playoffs. Wrong.
Rangers can't get to the World Series. Wrong.
Rangers can't captivate the hearts and emotions of fans new and old deep into the fall. Wrong.
And on and on and on....
I can't even begin to count the memorable moments we have shared this year thanks to a very special group of players with hearts and smiles as big as Texas, who always pull together, stand up for one another, and who have changed the sports landscape here in the Metroplex forever.
But here is a simple reality. Monday will be the last game played in Rangers Ballpark this year. We all owe it to ourselves, our players and each other, to celebrate with passion, enthusiasm and indefatigable belief from lineup cards to the final out, loud and proud.
The defining team of my young life was the 1979, "We are Family" Pittsburgh Pirates. I have often remarked how much this Rangers club reminds me of that team, with a confident but friendly swagger and an abundance of character and personality.
Now these two teams have something else in common. Both fell behind 3-1 in the World Series. Kent Tekulve, the great closer from the '79 Pirates, texted me after tonight's game to pass along this story. Before Game 5, Willie Stargell told his teammates:
"We are playing in front of the whole world. We may not win this thing, but before we go, let's show the world how the Pirates really play baseball."
The Pirates, playing against a team whose colors were black and orange, won Game 5. Then they returned to Baltimore and won Game 6. Then they won Game 7.
I know our players will show everyone how the Rangers play baseball tomorrow. As fans, let's do the same. We have one final opportunity this season to show the world what we have accomplished together and the passion we all hold for our players and our shared dreams.
The World Series is going back to San Francisco. And then there will be one final piece of conventional wisdom to prove wrong....
Believe.
Chuck

Awesome email!
As a player/coach you have one simple choice when you get down like this: give up, or give everything you got and see what happens. I think I know what this team will do, and I can't wait to watch it happen tonight. We might lose, but I bet they'll compete their guts out.
I'm fired up.
Go Rangers!

Well it was a helluva run. Enjoyed it all. I just hope we can continue it for years to come. Playoff baseball is fun.
On a positive note, I am stating right here, right now, that Cliff Lee will sign with the Rangers in the off season. The way he talked after the game was "we" this and "we" that in regards to how they are going to learn from this and improve in the off season. I know that doesn't mean too much but from what I have heard he is leaning heavily toward Texas. And I welcome him.
Lets start a Rangers off season thread with their needs, moves that should be made, and wants for the 2011 season. I'm tired though, maybe I'll start it tomorrow.

***CAUTION*** THE FOLLOWING CONTAINS HOT SPORTS OPINIONS***CONTINUE READING AT YOUR OWN RISK*** Well, what the hell do you say after that game? I thought game one was bad, but game two was more than a loss it was a total beatdown, an embarrassment. I would rather not even go to the World Series than to go and sh1t the bed like the Rangers did last night. I waited 5 hours after the game before commenting but I don't think I have cooled down under the sports collar yet. Hamilton- trade him for pitching. We will never win anything with this guy. Collar tightens up whenever a big hit is needed. The Yankees were idiots to walk this guy. MEANINGLESS STAT GUY! Young- his day is passed. Don't wait, retire now. Framp nailed this guy as a garden gnome. GENIUS! another meaningless stat guy. Sick of him. Dutch Oven-why he was ever designated as "untouchable" in any trade is beyond me. His worth right now is zero. Washington- yeah, you came to SF to "whip some ass". How'd that work out for you? Keep your mouth shut and chew on some more seeds. Mark Lowe- it wasn't enough of you to spare us in game one, you decide to go even more spare in game two! Jon Daniels- you got Cliff Lee for half a season, good move, however he seems like an a$$hole and will never sign here. Let's look at your other acquisitions: Francour-spare/ Cantu-more spare/ Guzman-bigger spare/ Alex Cora-did he ever get in a game? JD, I think you fit under the old " throw enough sh1t on the wall and something has to stick" category. OUT ON THESE RANGERS!!!! I still feel the same. Let me ask you this: If SF offered you your choice of Lincecum, Bumgarner, or Cain for Josh Hamilton, would you take it?
