Not reducing your fandom. I just figured you would have the Rangers in the World Series after yesterday. They looked good.
KL, tap the brakes. Its going to be a rough road for your astros. They will be terrible.

Correction: I have them winning the World Series, not just in it.

I'm a faithful fan coach I may or may not be in possession of tickets for the rangers v. astros game. Brooks talked about trying to book some shows down here that weekend and going to the game. Don't know if thats going to come to fruition. Would be cool though.

I do, too. But that doesn't make me think every cheap, bad move we make is a good one.
I was at the 18 inning playoff game 5 between the Atros and the Braves in 2005. It was pretty cool.

We have had more good moves in recent years than bad ones. Vlad is a good pickup for DH considering other options. His numbers are good enough for the job.

Why not keep Byrd and have him as DH. He is actually a viable option in the field, too and isn't drawing on Social Security.
How is picking up a has been a good move?

I'm with Fischer. Give me Byrd as DH.
I wouldn't be shocked if Vlad rides the end of the year out on the pine, while Smoak takes up all of his DH AB's. Or Mitch Moreland.

First off, an off year causwe of injury doesn't qualify him as a has been. Second, our joke of an owner screwed the team over and I think Vlad is so much more than I thought we could have had. Byrd could not have stayed with his salary. I still don't know if y'all have looked up his stas like I so kindly asked y'all to do. If players got bounced for having a soso year then we wouldn't have a team.

he is old. He has been declining for the last few years. I just don't think he is the player he used to be.
