I am hunting a family place in Wheeler this weekend that hasn't been hunted in a while (thought it had, but turns out he hasn't been out there in a couple years).
There are no feeders or blinds on the land at all.
By all accounts, there are tons of deer and turkey out there and they claim to know where to sit to see the deer come through.
Any advice? Is it even worth it to bring a couple of bags of corn out there and pour it on the ground?

I'd give it a morning hunt without corn to see what the natural patterns are of the wildlife. Some of the deer have probably never had corn, so it could be damaging to your success. Get there early and watch the world come alive w/out corn the first hunt, and you should be good. If they don't come in, bait their asses, and take the perfect shot when able.

If you're only there for two days, corn won't bring them out of the woodworks or anything. But, if you can find a good well traveled trail, bait it. If it does anything at all, it will stop them for a few mins so you can get a shot.

If there is a wheat field, hunt a trail leading to it. There will be several. Pick the most worn one. Set up where you can see down the trail and in the field. They will spill out into the field in the afternoon.

I just like to make it sound like I know something.
As you can see so far...I haven't shot a buck yet this year.

Oh I don't doubt your skills son... As you can see I ain't killed shit either. I'm gonna make another go at some Doe LAMPS tags this weekend. I gotta kill something. I've got an itch that needs to be scratched. I crave the pink mist.

I don't think there are any wheat fields or anything out there.
I am going to talk to my cousin and aunt who have hunted out there and know the place. I am sure they will help with specifics.

If they have any tanks or creeks running through the property I would stay close to those. Even when they are active deer never go to far away from a reliable water source. Find a creek or a tank and set up so that you can see as much of the surrounding area as possible.

I would stay close to that. Try walking the creek the first day and see if you can find any trails or crossing areas. I think a water source is probably your best bet.

There will definately be trails crossing the creek all over the place. If you don't see much in the morning, walk the creek. That's what I've been doing, and you'll push some out of there. If you do, and find the trail, set up on it the rest of the time. They'll be back.

Bought a bag of corn to sprinkle on the road and some trails. It can't hurt. If I run out I can always get more.

How much was the corn? I'm seeing about $7 a bag most places.
