5 am. 20 degrees. 13 wind chill. Gusts to 20 mph expected.
Gor 4 layers on and know its not enough. Its gonna hurt. Driving out there. Sometimes you wonder if this is borderline crazy.

Lots of activity today.
8 does so far and 4 bucks. First group of does were chased off by a little 4 point. Second group brought in a nice 8 but he had a busted up rack. I've got my mneat so I'm antler hunting now. Next group brought in a real nice young 8 but he needs a year or two. Pretty deer though. They got chased off by a damn coyote and I thought about laying the lead to him, but its early. Good thing I didn't since the busted 8 came back, and is now sparring with a new tall 6 pointer. Heck of a morning so far. Btw, its still cold and the wind is picking up. I can't feel my hands or feet.

Tall 6 turned out to be an 8 with lobster claws on the end of his main beams. Real cool deer but not what we're after today. He and the busted 8 just got tired and left.

I could hear two bucks fighting and there was a small young 10 staring off at them from right in front of me, but I can't get the big ones to come out. Sucks.

Things are slowing down now. Just had 3 does cruise through but they didn't even stop. May walk down to the creek and call.

I'll post pictures of Finch's buck tomorrow or monday. I still suck at hunting, as I didn't even fire a shot. I was after a buck, should have shot the doe anyways, but I thought she might bring daddy out.

Oh, and the camping was a successs. We went through the coldest 2 days of the year without ever entering into a real building. Our sleeping bags were awesome (no we didn't spoon, although if it would have been cold enough we probably would have considered it) and the fire was really warm.

Back to the same spot. Spent the afternoon in the thick trees and brush. Called up all the little boys, but the big boys weren't having it. Brought some urination assistance with me this time for good luck.

Beer. I peed twice from the stand and still saw a big buck. It was a 12 but broke off half his right side. Jeff shot a nice 8m
Now I'm back out here. Not as cold as yesterday. Waiting on light.

Everything big is busted up. Just saw the biggest deer I've seen on this trip. 8 point and one tine was broke off and the other brow tine was gone. Freaking frustrating. Two does have been out here all morning. Hope they draw more like that last one in.

He's back! My curly split brow tined buck from last time. He is older and has a ton of mass, but I can't bring myself to shoot him. His main beams damn near cross in front of his head. Damn he's a good looking deer though. I want something with more width. He kinda has it but they are growing out then around his forehead. He's pretty dang tall too.
