My motor man Ryan and I decided to do a little gar fishing this past weekend. Once again the fish gods decided to give us big slap across the face. Seems like every time we start to think we know a little bit about how to fish something like this happens. This is what happens when we go gar fishing. Needless to say we are no longer fishing for catfish, we will be fishing for gar from now on. As usual everyone take a shot at guessing the weight of each.

Good call, sorry Fisch, just try to skip over this post.
Ryan's fish came in at 24 lbs 9 oz and my fish came in at 35 lbs 4 oz. The results...
Stubbs- Off by a few million pounds KL- Off by 13 lbs 10 oz, but thank you for having so much faith in my fishing skills Aaron- Off by 10 lbs 2 oz Sully- Off by 6 lbs 5 oz Mike- Off by 2 lbs 9 oz, very impressive sir
I believe if we had caught the bigger fish a few months ago he would have been about 10 pounds heavier. When I pulled him out of the water I thought it was one of the biggest catfish I had ever caught. Ryan and I both guessed that he would go over 40. We caught him off cut bait so I going to guess the he was having trouble find a food source in the river because yella cats only eat live fish. Also one that big usually goes for bigger meals like channel cat.

Damn. I thought I nailed this one. You were spot on with what Ryan and I guessed before we weighed them if that makes you feel any better. I guess great minds think alike.
