I have said it time and time again, Ghost is my absolute favorite from the first time I heard it. I initially thought that it was about a relationship killing a guy until he just finally gave up. It wasn't until the chat that I realized I was wrong.

a mutual friend of both the characters, the narrator and the one who ends up dying.

the part where you sing "how did it get so bad?" and the horn starts, I just fall to pieces.

Yeah, it gets me there too. I'm fine up until then. It reminds me of Taps and either on purpose or accidentally becomes the songs's version it, thus turning it into a dirge. Pure genius. This is the lonesome dirge alluded to in TMWII.

Why the hell didn't I write that line? That may be the best on the whole record.
