I have a lot to say about this one. I think it's the most impressive cut of the whole album.

Man, I thought TMWII was the best and in the live show, it probably is, but I couldn't stop thinking about this song all weekend. I've turned this song inside out analyzing it and I'm just blown away with how the whole song turned out on the record. We've been hearing this song for a while now but it's meaning never hit me until Rodney explained it in the chat. Now that can actually listen to it and listen to lyrics, I can honestly say that I've never felt such a strong emotional connection to a song.
Over a year ago, Rodney played it in his living room and it made Kelly cry. I give her a hard time about but no more will I do that. This song made my eyes freaking water up. I think it's the horns that do it...especially the second time around. But what a sad freaking story. Best damn story I've ever heard in a song. The power and emotion just explodes at that moment.
Whose idea was it for the horn?

I think he's talking about his friend getting killed in battle. Like he was running and was midstride when the bullet hit his head.
Whose house did he go to? Sounds like Charlie...

Yeah the woman is just a metaphor for war. When Danny first heard the song he took it as the war as a metaphor for the woman, sort of a song about a relationship killing a guy. That works too, and is a cool idea to me. But it was written the other way around.

Dude, I was totally serious. It kind of sounds like 'your mom's house.' But didn't his mom die previously?
