Really sucks for the kid I had going to regionals. He is a senior and now he's done.

I believe they are taking the top 4 times/heights/distances from each region, using the district results.
But that is extremely unfair. Some district meets were run in monsoon rain and winds while others were not. That can drastically effect times/heights/dist.
Not to mention, if you are progressing the correct way, your region and state results would beat your district results. Its a crock.

Sounds like it. I'd be pissed if I was an athlete and missed state because I slowed up or quit before I cleared my best height because I knew I had the win at district.

well, now we might be having our regional track meet on the 15-16th and state will be the 29-30th.

On the radio this morning they said track coaches all around the state are really pissed off. If enough of them complain they will have to do something.

this just in:
We cannot move the regional track meets due to a bunch of venue conflicts around the state.
Now they are talking about taking the top 8 times/heights/distances to the state meet.
