There have been some big bass pulled out. There was a tournament last year and several were over 8 lbs. Ok...this says the biggest bass was 6.07 lbs but when they were loading out the boats were all lined up along the wall in front of our place and I spoke to a few of the guys. One said there were several 8 lb'ers caught but the biggest he caught was 4. vintage stubbs, right there.

I hear it happens to Sully a lot. That would involve getting a bite, first.

I saw him once before from afar and my first thought was a beaver. They put wire around the tree trunks along the bank because about a year and a half ago several were cut down in the middle of the night by beavers. From time to time teeth marks will show up on the trees but the mesh keeps them from doing any real damage.
The thought crossed my mind that it could be nutria as well because they are fairly common in the area. I've seen lots of beaver and nutria at LB Houston golf course just a couple miles away.
But one morning the sucker swam up right along the wall...on his back. Aren't otters the ones that swim on their backs? I was trying to get a look at it's tail but it was still fairly dark. Another guy saw it a few days earlier and thought it was an otter too. All three could easily be mistaken for each other.

I guess those 8 pounders jumped out of the boat before they could weigh them in. Just telling you what the pro said.
