Good guy, should have stayed gone last year. I think he will stay retired this time but who knows.

Yeah...probably so. Needed to prove to the Packers that he had something left.
Stroking his wallet too, I guess.

I don't think its right to call him an idiot.
If he wants to work, he has the right to, especially if someone is willing to pay him. I don't think he did it for ego. I think he did it because he loves to play the game and he is a competitor. Also, he got paid a lot to do it. Sounds pretty danged smart to me.

You know the Jets are just hating him right now. They got played. Point Favre.

That's what's so puzzling about the whole thing. Did they really think they had the team to make a run this year? Why give Pennington away when you weren't going to win anyway?

If after last season the Packers had handed him his walking papers and said that it was time for him to go then I would agree. But he retired, then decided 5 months later that he still wanted to play. By that point the Packers had moved on as they should have. If he knew he still wanted to play he shouldn't have retired in the first place. Not to mention he had pulled almost the same stunt for about the last 4 years. I still think he is a good guy but his ego got way too big and I think he tarnished his legacy slightly because of it.

I think the Jets didn't think they could win with Pennington. This was a way to get rid of him, and save a little face (replacing him with a HOFer).

If he does stay retired we will once again be subjected to the gayness that is the one day contract. There is no way the Packers let Farve go in to the HOF as a Jet.

I like the one day contract idea.
I wouldn't let myself go in as a Jet, either.
