How cool would it be to be some spare on the Royals at spring training and have George Brett bullshit with you all day?

FWIW, Brett is one of my favorite players of all time. Perhaps the greatest gamer ever.

One of the saddest days of my life was being at the final game of the season in'93. Nolan and Brett were both injured but they met at home plate and exchanged lineups. It was sad b/c I knew it was the last time I'd see two of the greatest players of that generation in uniform as a player. Damn I loved watching him play.

If that is one of the saddest days of your life, then you lead the most sheltered, easy life of anyone I have ever heard of.
I doubt that day was even the saddest of the week for those two guys.

I love ol george. True story. My mom was at Disneyworld once back in the early 90s when she used to take her middle school students there for spring break trips. Anyways, she was in this restaurant and recognized George at a table and ended up getting a picture signed that they took with a polaroid or something. The next day my mom's hotel room got broken into and everything got stolen, including the picture. So, when she got back from the trip she sent him a letter telling him what happened. A few weeks went by and a big picture of him cam in the mail with that had my mom's name on it with some little saying and his signature. Needless to say I've always liked him. Good guy.

Refrain from the mother comments..... I mean come on. Damn, as much as it pains me to do so I shall respect your wishes. That is a cool story about George though, seems like a pretty down to earth guy.
