The 3rd quarter was winding down the other night and Wyoming started to play real cheap just like they've done every time we've played them. It was 38-7. Aaron Brown steps out of bounds and runs along the bench for about 10-12 yards when out of nowhere some Wyoming trash levels him. The bench goes crazy. Flags go flying. Another piece of Wyoming trash (a safety who had been lit up twice already for long TDs) comes over and starts talking smack to GP. GP starts yelling at him and the player starts backing up towards the middle of the field but still talking trash. Then GP points at the player, yells something, and points repeatedly at the scoreboard. The whole place erupted. One guy who was on the sideline said that GP told him to "shut the hell up and look at the effin scoreboard" but that cannot be confirmed. I have never seen a player taunt a coach before but it was funny as hell. It's stuff like that makes his players love playing for him. Wyoming's coach should have Singletaried the two players.
They had several more late hits throughout the night and the refs did nothing but throw flags. I was afraid we were going to have a Miami/FIU incident on our hands.
Oh, on the very next play they lit up the safety again for a 50 yard TD. I'm not for running up the score but sometimes teams deserve it.
Fischer, what would you do if a player taunted you? Would you give him the ole Woody Hayes?
