Caught two nice alligator gar over my vacation. I was going for catfish but I was happy to get these two big daddy's out of the river. This guy went 25 lbs.    As you can see he got lead poisoning before entering the boat. This guy went 35. He had only been on the line a few minutes and was absolute hell to get to the top of the water.    Also caught 5 needle nose but didn't take any pics. Stubbs, we are probably going again in August if you want to try to come down. With any luck we might be able to catch some bigger than these. |

Not sure when, maybe the second or third weekend. Just have to see how plans fall.
Gar in this area usually prefer Shiner, but I think this one was half Mexican.
