Ole Roy was suspended for 1 game for his 4th offense in 2 years...and I say GOOD. What a sorry, cheap, chicken s thing the horse collar is. If you can't tackle a slow ass Donovan McNabb any other way then get the hell off the field. I'm glad the league finally did something. I'm not saying this as a Cowboy hater. I'm saying it as someone who cares about the wellbeing of the players in the league. I would have supported the suspension had it been anyone else in the league. Sadly, I don't think this will help him learn his lesson but good for the league for doing something about it. I was talking to a guy yesterday about how the league should do something like the NBA does with flagrant fouls. He thought I was stupid and it only contributed to the wussification of the league and its players. I said in only contributed to prolonging the careers of the players in the league.
I'll hang up and listen.

I don't have a problem with that type of tackle. I thought they were playing football. QB's should wear pink jersies.

The suspension is a little uncalled for.

You guys are retarded. The rule was put in to protect the players. The league ignored the health and safety of its players for years. That's why we have guys that can't write their own names let alone wipe their own ass, can't walk, have mental illness, and are dying left and right. The league finally wised up and decided they need to protect the health of the players. Football is already a voilent game by by definition. There's no need to expose it's participants to further risk by allowing the horse collar. Not only are your knees and ankles vulnerable, you're being put into the supine position which is the most vulnerable position to be in. It leaves their midsection totally exposed and susceptable to internal bleeding if hit in the right place. If seeing careers end because a defender can't outrun someone is your idea of good football then be my guest.

You have got to be kidding.
That rule is only in effect in the NFL. It isn't in effect in Jr. High (stubbs' field of domain), High school, or college. Its a retarted rule.
Sorry, but I don't see the "horse collar" being the cause of guys not being able to write. It caused one injury, to one player. If we are going to make rules from causing a single injury, we had better start playing touch.
This is a joke. You are ALWAYS at risk of being injured in a football game. If you are worried about it, don't play or wear a cowboy collar.
I, along with a ton of other people, have been around the game for my whole life. I have seen one instance of a player getting hurt.
The NCAA and UIL are governed much more vigorously than the NFL. They have not deemed it a problem, because it is not a problem.
Every player is susceptible to every injury you just mentioned on EVERY single play, every single tackle. What's next? No tackling a guy if he doesn't see you?
Maybe you need to stop listening to sports radio for a minute or two, stubbs.
