I'm not a hunter. Would this be considered a good sized deer?

Newspaper says it weighed over 300lbs. and field dressed out at 250. Kid killed it with a bow. Rack scored over 198 inches on some kind of scale.

I thought I had seen alot of deer in Arkansas, but I have never seen the amount of deer as I have up in Illinois. It's not uncommon to see a dozen at a time in suburban areas. Ridiculous.

Go to a newly bulldozed subdivision in Austin that is poorly lit...you're guaranteed to lose some tread skidding and swerving to avoid the sons of bitches...

Yeah, down here it is common to see 10-20 deer all together running down the road.

Check this out: www.rackranch.net/Hunts_Photos_2004.htmScroll down to Bobby Lindamood. That's my brother's boss and best friend's dad. Weight-wise, it was the 3rd heaviest Elk in Canada that year. It didn't have the biggest rack but Bobby said he nearly shit his pants when he saw Bullwinkle. I know, BW was a moose, but to hear Bobby tell the story is hilarious.

In Bandera we'd drive down the street and we'd see 5-6 deer in every yard.

thos hill country deer are a helluva lot bigger than those north texas deer.
The further south you get, the better the whitetail get. I believe that is a mule deer in that picture.

The only big deer I've seen up here was in Leo. Sonofabitch almost totaled my truck on a tiny country road.
