What's your take on College athletics? Be honest. Does TX really compete with the SEC and PAC 10 states? In the metroplex college sports are overshadowed by the pros and not nearly as big as they are in SEC country. It is no exagerration to compare successful Razorback football teams to Super Bowl champion Cowboy teams. Both sets of players are treated like Gods in their respective home areas. Same thing in La/Ala/Fla/Ga/Ms/Tn...and on and on... Maybe it's different in other areas of Texas? So, what 'market' covers those states? There's not a huge market there, but whatever one does it, (maybe Florida?), beats TX in the college level.

High School Baseball and Basketball are better in other states. Then what the hell are you talking about here?

Before anyone beats me to it...
I always feel strongly both ways....wait.
I make points for all sides, so I don't have to choose one. That way, I'm a friend to all.

High School Basketball MAY be beat by another state, but not baseball. California may send more to colleges; but no one, and I mean no one, goes to their baseball games. I worked a football camp in Colorado, with a baseball player from California who now coaches in Texas. (Weird huh) and he was going on and on about the differences.

From what I hear, hardly anyone goes to any high school sporting event in California. Baseball is more popular there than football. Most parts of the state play all year round.

One thing I noticed going through all these old threads... Mike sure has quit the board a lot.

I think we can blame that one on "the man" handing him an unfavorable work schedule.
