Ok, I'm in an argument on another board about powerhouses of Texas college football.
There's a dude on here that is huge on Tech. He didnt' go there and is not even enrolled anywhere. But states that they are up there with Texas when it comes to top notch programs.
My argument is 1) Texas, 2)ATM, 3)TCU and then maybe Tech.
This dude is an idiot. He says that powerhouse and ATM shouldn't be in the same breathe, and that Tech has beat TCU for years (which is wrong). What are your thoughts?

Just based on recent history, I would put Tech ahead of A&M. They have proven that they can consistently win 7 games a year. A&M is far from being a powerhouse. Tech beat TCU 70-35 in 2004...in a year TCU didn't even go to a bowl. TCU beat them in '06 in a game Tech never really had a chance even thought it was 12-3. In the '04 game, TCU was up 21-0 at halftime. I'd say that TCU's 10 win seasons are probably about even with Tech's 7-8 win seasons and that they are pretty even.
I'd put it: 1. TU 2. TCU 2. Tech 4. A&M
Also look at where the programs have been and where they are going. The first 3, I don't see them going much higher but I certainly don't see them getting worse. With A&M, it's going nowhere but down. It's going to get worse before it gets better. It has to. The guy who comes in next will have quite a mess to clean up and will have very little pressure...which I can't tell if that's a good or bad thing. A&M will be so happy to get Fran out of there that the next guy will get plenty of slack to get the program back to where it needs to be.
