They recruit hard here. Baylor is going no where...You can take that to the bank. Baylor will be dumped when UT and aTm say they can be dumped. It's all about their support.

tu and A&M don't have that kind of power...maybe in the SWC but not in the Big 12.
Anyways, even if that was the case, neither would EVER want to get rid of baylor. they cure everything.
disclaimer: that is unless they beat you in overtime for the first time since I was 2.

hahahaha...yeah, what would baseball be without the Double A's...err, Devil Rays? You'd like to get rid of them but there has to be someone that will allow your bench-warmers to get some playing time against.

There is not enough talent available for TCU to win in a BCS conference. With tu, A&M, OU, tceh, OSU, LSU all vieing for talent where does TCU fit in? They beat tech out every now and then, but not very often. Also, tech will never win either.
TCU needs to stay where they are and be a big fish in an extremely small pond.

Well, I don't think they can do it consistently (but heck A&M doesn't have much to brag about lately either) but I do think it's possible to capture lightning in a bottle from time to time and make a run for it. They'll be getting better talent than they do now if they get into the Big XII. They already have 2 of the top DE's in the nation. Now, granted these guys weren't the most talented out of high school but they are now and I think that gives one good reason to think that they may be able to recruit better.

TCU does a great job of recruiting. But if they move into a BCS conference it will suffer. Their faclities will be the same, the school will be the same, the coaches will be the same. But their win/loss record will be way worse. You proved my point: TCU's athletes are no comparison to A&M's and the Ags still can't do much.
To win in that conference you have to do more than capture lightning in a bottle.
Recruitingwise, kids go to Ft. Worth and see championships, rings, Huge stats, and great records. If they lose all of those, (which they will if they go to the Big 12) TCU looks a lot like a purple baylor.

One thing you can't underestimate but that's impossible to put a guage on is the heart of a Horned Frog (except when they play SMU). These guys play with a chip on their shoulder and what they lack in talent they make up for in shear determination. So, even if they did get into the B12 and did get better talent, there would still be the nay-sayers like you that say they can't and that would motivate them even more. Now, I'm not going to be stupid and say that some talent plus a lot of heart will propel them to be perennial contenders but it can't be discounted completely. I just don't think that they'd be the annual doormats that Baylor is.
You can't rule Fort Worth out either. Fort Worth today and what it will be in 5-10 years is will be a big recruiting tool. Plus, the stadium will go through several renovations that will make it one of the better stadiums in the Big XII. The only problem is that they need to fill the stadium but with Texas, A&M, Tech and even Baylor coming through, that won't be a problem.

dude, that "they play with a chip on their shoulder" thing doesn't work when you are in the conference and play big time opponents week in and week out. That is my point. You MAY be able to play with someone once or twice a year using the smoke and mirrors and the emotion and the "underdog" cards. But that puts you at 1-7 and looking for a job.
Just a side note: Baylor consistently beat TCU for years leading up to the formation of the Big 12. TCU absolutley sucked. Baylor was a bowl team every few years. The current states of programs would be nearly the exact same had the schools been switched.
Ft. Worth is great for country music fans and good food. Not for recruiting black kids. The stadium would be tied for worst in big 12 with baylor, tech, and Iowa state. Sorry, that is just how it is.

In it's current condition, yes, but if and when they do all they plan to do, it will be a pretty nice place to play.
My last year was the 1-10 season...so please, don't bring up the past. It hurts too much.

You know what? Luxury boxes don't belong in college football. Leave that for the NFL where you need to be entertained beyond the game.

BTW, what did you think of Tank Carder? Looks like he's gonna be a hell of a ball player. I was anxious to see how he'd look against equal talent and he more than impressed. He even kicked the PAT. Hopefully he can continue to develop and start to contribute in '08.
