They take Blake Beaven from Irving High in the first round. I know what you're thinking and yes, I do know this kid. I remember when he was a little baby. I can't believe he's so big but his mother wasn't exactly Kate Moss. She was probably a solid 5'10" and 165. I played ball against his half brothers Steven and Wes Fritz. They were always a cocky family and from all reports, Blake is no different. I hope he works out well don't hold your breath. Irving athletes seem to never pan out. I think it's b/c the level of competition isn't usually that great and when you are really good, you really stand out. I think they go into wherever they go with a big head and when they get there, they realize that there's a handful of guys just like them and they don't have the mental toughness to get through it.

Picked up another pitcher out of high school (Deland, FL) with our second pick. These picks def. show our weakness.
On a related note, I'll be attending the game tonight.

Good call on tonight Sull. I went to last night's game w/ a "friend." I use that term loosely. I didn't want to go b/c I had too much shit to do but he's asked me to go a few other times this year and I declined and he went by himself. I felt kind of sorry for him b/c he had a mini-plan. Anyway, the game totally sucked. I ate too many hotdogs. And I get a call from a client earlier today that said that if I had gotten something to him by 6 yesterday evening, I would have gotten his business. I sent if off at midnight last night after I got back...bad day all around.
Today is a better game to go to b/c they have $3 beer. That beat's $1 hot dogs any damn day.

I don't know why I made beats possessive.
Mike, thanks for making me pay for my own dollar dogs you cheap bassturd.
And just FYI, $1 hotdog night is the biggest scam. For years they've sold the $1 dogs in that kids concession stand in right-center at every game. Just past the opposing team's homerun porch. Now, half-off beer is where it's at. I wonder if that's a normal Thursday thing.

Are you saying that they only sell the $1 hot dogs at one concession stand? It would not surprise me if that cheap ass Hicks did it that way.

No, on Wednesdays they sell the $1 dogs at several places around the ballpark but on any given day, they sell them at that concession stand.

I didnt' know that about the dogs. Here's the deal with the $3 beers. They are only 12 ounce drafts, and you can only get them at 'certain' concession stands. We were on the club level (those are the tickets Tyler got us for all of these games), and they are def. not sold there. So, I spent $6 each like always.
Another thing, Thirsty Thursdays is the promotion. I think it's every thurs. june-august. I may be wrong though.

Oh yeah, we went again on Sat. night. This was the best baseball game I have ever attended. Down 3-0 in the bottom of the ninth, against CoCo Cordero, and with two outs, we rallied to score 4. What a freaking game! I was going nuts.

The 9th was the only part of the game I watched and it was great.

That one inning reminds me of why I love baseball so much.
