I had the chance to go hunting this weekend up in Newton County as a guest on my cousin's lease. Not even 5 minutes out of the truck to walk to where he had me a hunting blind, I dropped a doe at 100 yds. The trail I was walking down led to a high-line. As soon as I stepped out onto the high-line I saw 6 does. I stalked them for about 70 yards, then made my shot. I field dressed my doe and drug her up the hill to the blind. Now imagine this. I'm sitting in the blind with a deer already hanging on a telephone pole, and the deer just keep coming. Around noon I saw a 7 point buck. Does, 3,5, and 7 point are all I can shoot because i'm not a member of this hunting lease. So I see the 7 point again come out of the woods at about 120 yds. I dropped him in his tracks. As soon as my little cull buck 7 point hit the ground, big daddy walked out. This was a 150 - 185 scoring buck. He was a 10 or 11 point perfectley symmetrical and mature. It was the biggest deer i've ever seen in person. It's a shame I couldn't shoot him. It was his lucky day. I had to let him walk.

Good job Aaron, sucks about the big daddy, but as we Ags say there is always next year.

Looks like a damn nice weekend. Both my doe and buck are ready at the meat plant. I'll be getting it next week. I need a deep freeze.

You don't have a second fridge? My dad has two in the garage. He bought one at a consignment store for like $100 and the other someone he knew was throwing it out and they just gave it to him.

You can't get SubZero brand freezers at the consignment store. Only the best for Sully!

There's a consignment store in Irving off Irving Blvd. Haven't been there in a couple years but I found a stackable W/D unit for $95.

Got my freezer yesterday. It's a Kenmore 5.0 cubic foot. Just the cheap basic square chest from Sears. $150. Not too bad. It's also full of deer meat now.
