Ok, Deep Ellum-dead with the exception of the occassional roller derby chick and over-aggressive cop.
Fry Street-Soon to be dead due to progress.
I have never worried about my wallet on Fry Street if that means anything.

To me they're not the same at all. Deep Ellum is a little more trendy, has more music, is not always the safest place, and is expensive. Fry is just a bunch of college kids, mainly fraternity and sorority kids. There is hardly any music going on at all, everything is pretty cheap, and it's safe. They're just tearing down a couple of bars, not that big of a deal. The scene, if you can call it a scene, won't be going anywhere.

Speaking for the recently politically disillusioned, 40 something white guy:
Cheap and safe=good College kids (esp. frat dudes)=not so good buddy
I'll take this under advisement.

I think Rodney is saying the scene is overrated and, if so, I concur.

Overrated, huh?
Maybe we'll find something else to do then.

I am confused....I was saying Fry is cheap and safe and full of college kids. Deep Ellum is just spare. It's definitely a good time though, don't let me discourage you from going.

I was on board and looking forward to it; until Matt threw out the overrated comment. I have nothing against cheap and safe and college kids are generally ok. Except for frat dudes that drink alot and show off on Daddy's credit cards. I hate those guys. No offense, Matt.

hahaha. Matt is in no position to comment on Denton anyway. He is a chris chris long removed from my fair burg. If you want to know about bouncing over to Duke's for 4 dollar U's in Addy, he's your man. Denton is the bomb.

Ok, I have not been to Duke's in almost a year. I have not set tread in Addison since Kelly moved away from there. And Mike, just b/c it's overrated is not an excuse to not come to the show. I think Billy Bob's sucks and is overrated, but if Rodney was there, would it discourage you from coming? No. It's kind of like seeing a thick girl nekkid...It's not that great, but you still steal a peek.
And just b/c I saw it's overrated doesn't mean I can't have fun there. I can only count on 2 hands the number of times I didn't have a good time.

Fry street is about a million times better than Deep Ellum. Plus, this particular event should be pretty cool. We played at a similar event for these guys in the same place earlier this year and had a great time. If you hate a nice day, drinking beer, eating brats, and hearing great bands, stay at home. If you love those things, come out as early as possible. It starts at noon, we play at 7. I will definitely be there well before that. I am going to sign papers on my new house in Denton a 4, and will go straight to the festival from there.

I am going to sign papers on my new house in Denton a 4, and will go straight to the festival from there. Brooks has hit the big time! Don't worry guys, he'll come back down to earth when I handle his foreclosure in 8-10 months... I'm kidding, of course. Congrats on the house. It's a big deal and your first step towards puberty. Hope it goes well. Call up Sully if you need a truck-he's always willing to lend a hand.

Congrats Brooks! Here's a tip for the closing: Bring more money than they tell you. Title companies are right up there with insurance companies for ripping you off.
