I don't know. It could be disastrous, everyone will think we covered a charlie robison song. Which isn't a bad thing unless it is a brand new Charlie Robison song.

That's why you put the liner note in so that people will know you've been doing it for a while.
All in favor of recording say "aye."

I don't think that he or his label would be releasing anything. Whatever label put the thing out makes those decisions. With tribute records though, it's rare to find someone willing to push anything. I don't think they release singles at all. I think what has happened is that charlie did the tune, and with kinky being so much in the limelight right now a song that would have normally flown under the radar got noticed by some folks. I bet someone like Justin Frizzell (sp?) heard it, dug it, spun it, maybe a couple of others joined in. If I'm right about all this, it won't last long. And recording this tune is a possibility for us. Danny, you should click the link and look at the actual cd. This is just propaganda for kinky's governor race, which he will lose, and this little cd will be all but forgotten. This is not a real album. No money could possibly be being put behind this.

HOT SPORTS OPINIONS!!!
I never heard it on the Front Porch but I've heard it a few times on the Ranch and I know CR's management company is pushing for people to request it. But it looks like it won't be a single.

Sure, they want people to request it, but that doesn't get you in regular rotation on the wolf. Unless his same label is putting out the kinky thing, then nobody from Charlie's camp will be shelling out the dough for the radio promoter. His management certainly has no ability to do that. And a record label doesn't get excited about pushing a product they're not selling. So........I think this will blow over.

If you look, you'll see several known liberals...CR, Lyle, DeeWhite Yoakum, Todd Snider, Bruce and Kelly, Willie, and Delbert.
It's actually Kinky's record company that's pushing the song (not CR's, my bad). Kinky is on Sustain Records along w/ Bruce, Bowen, Boland, and Ray Wiley Ass-beat.

You need to record this song. Your version is way better than CR's and I'm a CR fan.
