Ever thought of playing over in Dallas? How about that Sons of Herman Hall or Adairs?

Mike must be in desperate need of a road trip...
SOHH is one of the best places in Texas to see a show. If you can fight through the smoke it is awesome.

I don't consider Dallas a road trip. Austin is a road trip...Oklahoma City is a road trip...Dallas and Denton are down the street.
Speaking of OKC: That might be a good trip to make.

Very small. Cool place if you like Deep Ellum. I don't.

Deep Ellum aside, it's a cool little place. Great hamburgers too. I haven't been there in a few years but it was always a good place to hang out. I've seen Pat, Jack, Cory, and several others there. Once even saw RP's buddy Ben Adkins there. He played about 10 REK songs, 3 Pat Green songs, a handful of other covers, and 5 of his. And that was right after his record came out. Oh, what a beating it was...

I have never been to Deep Ellum; but I have heard nothing but bad things about it. Crime, parking problems, and just generally being Dallased.

It was a better day when it was cool. Now, it's a bunch of hoodrats and low-lifes. Sully would fit in well. I honestly don't know how Adair's is still there. It's kind of by itself now in between empty buildings. They moved it from Cedar Springs in the 80s when DE was starting to grow. I'm suprised she hasn't moved over by Southside on Lamar by Poor David's and Bill's Records.

Adair's has great burgers, that's about it. Ben Atkins kicks ass. Sons of Hermann has been non-smoking upstairs for a little while now. But back to mike's question, we would love to play the sons, and have played before, but that's a tough gig to get. We've known the guy forever and still can't get in there, it's just one of those deals. Adairs......we tried that, it doesn't work for us.

Thanks for that reply, RP.
What about Woody's and The Horseman? Any plans on shows at either of those places?

I would have never known upstairs was non-smoking. Oh, actually I did know that b/c Tessa was kindly led away when she lit up at Todd Snider a few months ago. And then her, Kelly, and their mother hen friend decided to stay downstairs for half the show. Bentley and I were pissed.

I am a fan of the non-smoking bar. One of the few reasons I like Arlington.

I head they had some thing in the works to allow smoking in places who received less than 25% of their revenue from food.

the horseman started only having openers every once in a while - maybe once or twice a month, so getting in is harder now. i do want to play woody's some more. i'm glad you reminded me, I'll get on Baron's ass.
