oooo, a song in E...my Jap guitar doesn't handle an E chord too well. The e and B strings don't ring out too well. I usually try to mute them w/ my pinkey. Maybe if I transpose it to another Key. It really sucks b/c I love how a C#m sounds...especially when you go to a D on the 5th fret.

It's not hard at all. Each key has seven notes in that key. For C it's C D E F G A B. So if a song goes C F C G, you could just say I IV I V, meaning the first chord the fourth chord the first chord and the fifth chord for whatever key you're in. So sonora's death row, for example, goes C Am F C.......which would be................ I vi IV I. The second, third, and sixth are always minor and written in lower case ( ii, iii, vi).

And you can add 5ths, 6ths, 7ths, dims, ect... Like iii7 in C would be Em7. Once you get it down, its pretty easy...I just had a hard time sticking with it to remember well enough.

one cool exception that rodney threw in on ten pound test... in the chorus (key of g) the second chord is a B7, which if it followed the rules would be b minor. but rp chose to be chingón and say fuck the rules.

My inept hands have the hardest time w/ a B7.
I like-out-of key chords. Sometimes an E in the key of G sounds really good. Like in Reckless Kelly's Let's Just Fall. It gives a dramatic effect.
