SH had to do that to win. Its addition by subtraction...drives math teachers batty but us history folks love it. This was after he received news that the Alamo was a failed bit and several of his yella-bellied men deserted. I hope that their Texas citizenship has been struck from the record. Sammy had a few trusted men he sent out to get the scoop..."Deaf" Smith and Karnes (where we get the county names)...there you go, some useless Texas history.

Good point. No, history says he did it more out being pissed off b/c his men deserted. W/o the men, he knew he couldn't fend off the Meskins. Actually, they weren't Meskins as we know them today. They were mostly of Spanish decent. All the commanders were Creolos who had pure Spanish blood but were born in Mexico. The Mestizos were basically slaves forced into war by Spanish Imperial greed.
