I used to love the Beach Boys until I started going to bars & when guys would ask my name then they would respond with "help me rhonda" in a really lecherous kind of way. It got really old, really fast.

Matt-Did you get into the show on Sunday? How were the boys received by the wine and quiche crowd?

Why would you not have told that?

Because I am sure you will now be relentlessly serenaded with "Help me Rhonda" at the next get-together.

Matt-Did you get into the show on Sunday? How were the boys received by the wine and quiche crowd? It was quite interesting. First off, it was at the Speedway Club at TMS. That place was bad ass. There were 3 tiers and it was all enclosed with glass. It stood about 100 feet over turns 1 and 2. It gave a great view of the track. Neiman Marcus employees and the vendor's employees got to ride around the track in a pace car. They were going about 75-80 mph. Kelly was a wus and didn't want to go. I could have killed her. Anyway, the place was real posh. The boys started playing and the were received fairly well. Then dinner was served and everybody laid out on them. After dinner people started getting some drinks in them and mingling. Some "danced" and some, unfortunately, line-danced. Near the end when most had left the boys got rockin and the 30 or so that stayed behind really started enjoying themselves. One bus left at 10 and I think the ones that stayed, stayed b/c the were enjoying themselves and the Pesos. Overall I think it went pretty well. Better than I think any of us expected. They were there to play and get paid. They weren't there to sell records or to get noticed. I think they did really well. Kelly said that there were lots of people thanking her yesterday for getting the guys to play. A few were asking about CDs and stuff. RP, I'll get Kelly to get their contact info and forward it on. I think the night took a dramatic turn when they took a break and found out that we got free alcohol. RP and Zach thought they were in Austin and decided to make sure they drank all the Cabernet in the place. Brooks, Adrian, and myself thought that was fairly gay and stuck to beer. One of the highlights of the night was when they got through w/ one song and RP started going into a frenzy when he couldn't find his wine. I thought we were going to have to untangle him from the cord. Fun night though...even if I was the least involved person in the entire building.

Man, don't worry about it. Like Ms. Vergie said to Todd Snider "man, you don't owe me nuthin'." I think we'll all be given thanks in some liner notes on future records so that'll be thanks enough. Just don't forget about us on the way up.

When in Rome do as the Romans do. RP is more of a follower. To his credit though, the people liked him.

You should paint a big rainbow on the bow of your boat. That way you may get some action, Harvey. The last girl to step aboard was probably finch's girlfriend at texoma.
