I miss this board.
Before all of this social media bull crap. Before twitter, facebook, etc. Before we all grew up and had jobs, wives, kids, etc.
Before we all got soft, worried about hurting feelings, or what someone would think, etc.
I miss what this board was. I miss what this board did.
This board brought a group of people together who had one thing (that we knew of) in common.
And that was badass music.
We used that one common bond to turn this place into the most awesome internet community I've ever been a part of. I've kept in touch with friends, lauded great performances, been informed of parties, re-lived parties, met new people, planned road trips, made it through the day, won arguments, lost arguments, had help when I was in need, helped friends in need, enjoyed triumphant victories, suffered defeats, posted pictures of my trophies, ogled others' trophies, laughed, spit, cried, cussed, pondered, and flat out got entertained by the goings on of this board.
It used to be a way of life.
I guess it was inevitable that this thing would die. But I never considered it. I never thought that we would all grow out of this. Sure you move on in life. Get married, move off, have a career, wife, kids, etc. But man, this thing was badass.
I just want to thank RP and the pesos for bringing us all together and giving us a forum to build our friendships and give our opinions.
I guess this thing is on its death bed and there isn't much we can do to bring it back (maybe we finally ran out of stuff to say), but I'd like everyone to know that this board has meant a helluva lot to me.
I've made friends that will be friends for life on this board. I'dve never met Mike or Rhonda if it hadn't have been for this board. I'dve never pissed Aaron off, made up with Aaron, and then got to hang out with him at Float trip.
All of this because of a badass little band from Denton, Tx.
I can't wait to hear all the new tunes and to follow the Pesos for years to come.
Hopefully this board will get a jolt and some new members that will carry the torch.
But it will never be quite like it used to be. When a bunch of abrasive, inappropriate, unforgiving a holes had a run of the place.
Stay hard!
