So yesterday was just all freakin hunky dory then all of the sudden I had severe stomach pain and could not even stand up it hurt so bad. I had a Dr's appointment at 4 yesterday afternoon to go get whatever has been bothering me figured out. Right about 3:30 this shit hit me hard and I came straight to the ER. Turns out I have en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PancreatitisThis is being caused by Gall Stones. I've had gall bladder problems for the last 10 years or so and just recently they have decided to start fucking with me again. Back when I found out I had this shit I had no insurance to get it taken care of so I've just put it off over the years. Well now I have insurance and this mofo is getting taken care of properly. I have not eaten since noon yesterday and I'm about ready to gnaw the nurses face off if she tells me I cant eat anything again... I have to see a Gastro Doc and a Surgeon today. They don't know when these clowns will be by the room either. So I guess I'm gonna be a hungry mofo and start to get a little abrasive around noon cause' that'll make 24 hours without any chow and that shit ain't cool... I weigh 236lbs. Big men need to eat or we get ever so increasingly violent until we are forced to break out of whatever chains that bind us and go kill something, skin it, cook it, and devour it. I don't always eat, but when I do, it's in a horrifically violent manner. I am the worlds most interesting starving man at the moment.... Right now it looks as if I'll be in for Gall Bladder surgery because that bitch has more stones in it than Whitney Houston's purse.. So.. I'll keep you guys updated. Keep on rockin' in the free world maaaaaaaan.. P.S. I love morphine. That is all.

Stay hard gall bladder!
That doesn't sound like fun. I was in the hospital almost exactly 2 years ago and at first they thought my gb had failed. Then they realized it was just a bacterial infection and gave me some meds to fart it all out. I farted for about 3 hrs straight. Craziest thing ever. It was a stressful 2 hours until they test results came back.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

To operate correctly until we're in our 20's then cause horrible pain and digestion difficulties.
I need to have mine out but I putting it off as long as possible, I just avoid iceburg lettuce, anything too spicy and smoked meats and ice cream like the plague, and I'm generally ok.

Beer has been what has been setting it off for me. But I'm guessing that ill be able to still drink. If not, I've always got the herbs. I'm a huge fan of mint, leeks, parsnips....

you avoid most of my favorite things. I'd have mine out as soon as they told me that those things bothered it.
DB, I hope the surgery goes well and that it fixes the issue. Prayers sent for surgery.

LOL, Nah, Romaine instead of iceburg, yogurt instead of ice cream, and honestly, if the spicy is good enough I just go for it then deal with the consequences later. I'm a weiner, don't want to have surgery.

Glad you are taking care of this, DB, wishing you a speedy recovery! A friend of mine had gall bladder problems for years, kept putting it off until it got infected, developed into severe pancreatitis (sp?) ,caused his kidneys to fail and then killed him. I'm going to his funeral Friday.
Take care of yourselves. When you get old, you'll be glad you did.

Lauren had gb taken out last year. Still don't understand why that thing is in our body. It stores bile produced by the liver. Bile is used by the liver to make fats water soluble. Not necessary to live a long and happy life, but watching what you eat becomes more important once you have it removed. Good luck Aaron and hope you have a full speedy recovery.

Good luck. Let us know when you make it out of there. I don't know much about this stuff, but sounds shitty.
I love spicy stuff, smoked meats, beer and ice cream, so I'm doomed eventually, I guess.

Update...
Gall bladder was removed on Wed. Thursday they endoscopy and go in to remove gall stones. Dr says "oh yeah we gottem mr hughes, you can go home this afternoon. I get about 9 miles from the house and the severe pain and puking begins again. I just figured it was the morphine leaving my body and the Anesthesia leaving me and maybe a little recovery pain or something. So me being the BAMF I am or I thought anyways, I laid up in the bed in severe pain until 4 am friday. We readmit, I have to lay in a bed in the ER Holding tank until 4 pm friday. When I was admitted originally on Tuesday, they tried to put me on the 5th floor. The 5th floor is for homeless and people who don't have anyone to speak up for them. This hospital has a severe racism problem that I will not be dealing with again come any new illnesses. Thats why I waited 12 hours the 2nd admit, because I didnt want to have to go back up and be taken care of by the guerilla army of philipinas and ghetto booboos. The 2nd floor had it's blemishes too, but nowhere near the 5th. So anyways, they missed the gall stones and had to go back in on Saturday to remove the first doctor's fuck up. Sunday I was cut loose to go have Easter dinner with my girls, wife, and mom.
Team Hughes was down, I repeat, dowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwnnnn... But like a good wife will do, I was rallied back to the top of the mountain by her severe willingness to speak up for me and ask questions when I could not about my health. Thanks for the wishes ya'll. I thought for sure I was going to be down for a while, but after all of this, it wasn't the pain that was the worst, it was me not being able to be on my best for my family that was killer.
