Ron Jackson is pretty solid. He and Steve McCauley of Ch. 8 are both excellent second stringers. My only beef with Jackson is that he wears white socks to umpire little league games and brags about his Ferrari too much on facebook.

Unfortunately, I flew out to STL this AM early. Bad day for me until it all passed through. Here's how my day went...

I dropped Hudson off at daycare at 7, parked at the airport at 7:30. Flew out at 8. Working in STL all morning. I'm sitting at lunch and get 3 straight calls from my mom at 1:30. Answer the 3rd. She asks if we're ok, and I say I think so, I'm in STL. Said tornadoes were tearing through DFW going down 35. I ask if they're bad. She says HUGE. Real bad. Now I'm worried.

I call Tyler...no answer. I call daycare...no answer. I call Tyler's work cell...straight to voicemail.

No I'm more worried. I get back to the office and look up wfaa...the only way. Pull up the live feed and hear tornadoes are tearing through Arlington and DFW, heading to Dallas. No idea what's happend before then.

Finally, Tyler calls back and says she's ok, locked in a basement of Skyline, in East Dallas. No word from daycare.

Then, daycare emails us saying they are ok, but locked up in a middle hallway. Next I see on wfaa of a tornado making it's way through east dallas. Then get an email from my property manager in lewisville about golf ball sized hail. At least my family is ok.

Well, finally Tyler calls when she gets released and says it's all passed, but the tornado went right over them. Trees, window, roofs, cars toppled all around. Her car is good, she's good, Hudson is good. Thank God.

Today was a scary day for me. Nothing worse than not being there to know what the hell is happening. Hope everyone else was as lucky as we were.

Tyler says the house is good. Not sure about roof damage. hopefully, we're good there. Now the only thing that sucks is my truck is parked in the top floor of the parking garage at the airport. I'm sure it's pummeled with the hail. I won't know til Thursday night. Wish me luck.

I'm just glad everyone is ok. When I first heard about all this, all I could think about is what happend to Joplin and Tuscaloosa last year. Whew.

My newly purchased and yet-to-be-planted blueberry plant fell over. A few branches didn't make it. Could have been much worse.

Amazing there were no deaths. Glad the Ballpark didn't crumble (Is that bad?). I heard that Jerry's World protected it, cause there just aren't many touch-downs there.

So let me get this straight...they could play last night's game but last fall they cancelled an ALCS game 6 hours prior to game time when the last drop of rain hit Arlington 30 minutes after the official postponement?

A guy doing some Security work for us in STL flew back to Dallas today and said my truck was hammered with hail dents. Glass is good. Rest is destroyed. Shit.
