What's A&M's plans with Johnson? I can only go by what I saw on a few HS scoreboard shows but from what I saw he had a below average arm.

How do we feel about Matt Davis?

Excellent defensively but can't hit a curveball to save his life.

Ags can breathe a sigh of relief. The fax machine was just out of toner. The LOI are now coming through.

Thomas Johnson?
He is the best receiver in the state. I don't care what his arm is like.
Matt Davis is a huge get. I bet he ends up competing for the starting job at QB this year.
Even if he never plays a down, he was isntramental in getting this class together. He is a great leader and a big time play maker.

That I will agree with. Again, it's all speculation as far as talent and it's not an accurate predictor of on-field success but you'd think with the great year they had and the run they're on they'd be able to pull in a better class. We they just aiming too high for some biggies and neglected the 3s and low 4s that are the foundations of success? Saying you don't need the highly touted kids, that you find kids to fit your system, and you coach them up, etc. is all fine and good. But the thing is, Bobby Petrino offered a whole lot of highly touted, big name recruits. He landed almost none of them. Hard to buy that crap about not needing the big hyped players when they were throwing offers at all of them and recruiting them hard. Bobby Petrino failed miserably with this class, at least from an immediate results standpoint. They got turned down a ton. They had a good couple of classes before this, and are sure to have good classes behind it. But this one, at least right now, is pitiful.

This just in: Arkansas will still field a football squad next year. Our demise by this board is humorous.
Not signing DGB is a disappointment, not going to deny it, but I will agree with BP in saying:
"We wish him (DGB) nothing but the best. I thought we did a great job recruiting him, our teams have finished number one in passing offense in the SEC the past 3 years in a row so we feels like we do a good job of developing quarterbacks and receivers."

I'll agree with BP on that point.
Also don't think that Arkansas is going to tank. Just think they did a poor job recruiting this year.

The craziest thing about all this stuff is that it never stops. Sumlin already said today that A&M is having a junior day in a couple of weeks and they plan on having 5 total this spring. As a fan this stuff beats me down, I can't imagine how stressful it is on the coaches.

Garrick McGhee and John L. Smith leaving the staff for HC gigs didn't help our cause. Those guys were a couple of the best recruiters on Petrino's staff. The more I read about the DGB situation the more I am amazed that Arkansas came so close to signing him. Both "parents" are Mizzou alums, sounds like the Hogs were "Blind Sided". Good article on the DGB recruiting experience: msn.foxsports.com/collegefootball/story/Dorial-Green-Beckham-inside-the-chase-for-nations-top-recruit-020112What I learned from the article: 1. Mack Brown is cheesy 2. OU is a bunch of negative recruiting, whiny SOB's. 3. Arkansas game day experience>OU game day experience 4. Arkansas fans will buy you drinks and let you shoot guns! 5. DGB's Mom is an idiot that thinks job hopping is a bigger sin than a DWI.

I told you his parents didn't like BP. And job hopping is a big downer when you are picking where to go to school.
OU is famous for negative recruiting.
I haven't been to a game in Fayettville, or any of your other "home" stadiums, but OU has a pretty danged good game day atmosphere. Something about winning the most, regular season games, most bowl games, most conference titles, and most national titles of the last 75 years really sets the atmosphere off there in Norman.
Plus the stadium holds 85k, so its a lot bigger than any of the hogs stadiums.

Thomas Johnson? He is the best receiver in the state. I don't care what his arm is like. My bad. Poor editing and reporting by Ch 8. They showed highlights of a game against Sunset or some other DISD spare team and said "Thomas Johnson with 3TDs and 189 yds" or something to that effect. Barely showed the receiver and showed the QB breaking a couple tackles before throwing blind, wounded duck to a wide open receiver in the endzone. The other two passes they showed were pretty bad too. I was wondering why there was so much hype about him.

I read this last night and thought his mom came off sounding like someone who wears skirts to her ankles and has never seen a rated R movie. But, I saw her on TV last night and I have begun to openly recruit her services. I agree with you on Mack. Those kinds of people annoy me to no end.

Anyone look at SMU's class? June's antics over the last month and a half have set that program back 4 years. I think their class had a total of 14 FBS offers. 14.

Another thing I love about your schtick is your obsession with smu. You try so hard to convince us that Tcu is so superior, yet lose to them.
