Did he bust out the guitar at halftime and give his own version of "Material Girl?"

Sorry we didn't make it. Getting my family to nail down plans is like nailing Jell-o to the ceiling.

The only one who actually made it was Mike.
Sully, the one who got this thing going, backed out at about 4:00. Can't say I was surprised.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Sully backed out? Sick baby, huh? Man, I gotta get me one of those. That's like a black Amex card...gets you in and out of everything. Smiteworthy.

No, the baby wasn't sick. She was just fine.
He just backed out. A la Sully 2007-2010

Craig, you live almost two hrs from here. I'm sorry for not inviting you, but it was less than 24 hrs in advance and I didn't think there was any way you could come.

It's the gesture, John. It's the gesture that counts.
But, yes, you are correct on all accounts.

Keeping a baby out past bedtime is not fun. The negatives outweighed the positives that night, so I chose to stay home with the family after much consideration.

Did you just realize she was going to be out after bedtime an hour before game time? Why'd you ask me a month in advance what we were doing, then make plans the night before to come over? Did you not realize the kid would be out past bed time then? Its not that you wanted to stay home. That would be fine. Its that you made plans to go, then used your child as an excuse. This is very similar to the July 4, 2010 fiasco where you call an hour before you are supposed to get there and cancel.

I knew we would be out past bedtime, but we were looking past that to have a good time. We were willing to deal with it, then at the last hour had a change of heart.
BTW, I never said I was coming. I told you I would let you know the next day, which I did.
