I appreciate the assistance. I thought I was going to have to call Mark Hall-Patton, currator of the Clark County Heritage Museum.

A red rider is still only worth around $35

Did some research...at $35 you're overpaying for a vintage Red Ryder. Apparently they produced one for every Chinese and they can servive just about everything but a nuclear winter.

What do they look like Mike? I'm interested. You should take as many as you can. Guns never lose value. We can at least tell you which ones to take if you give a brief description. I'd be willing to bet you have a good mix of standard shotguns and rifles. Look at the end of the barrel...bigger holes are shotguns, smaller are rifles. That's about as simply as you can put it. All guage, caliber info and maker will be stamped above the stock on the side of the barrel.
For Doyle, I know nothing about that. What are you looking for an AR for?

Sounds like there are enough for you to distribute to committed board members.

You should take as many as you can. Guns never lose value. And.... Guns only have 2 enemies: Rust and Politicians You can say stop or alto or any other word if you want, but a large bore muzzle pointed at someone's head is pretty much a universal language.

Outstanding stuff DB! It makes so much more sense now, of course I want an AK by the way you were describing it but I'm thinking that's out of my price range......plus I'm more of a sniper/ninja than a Terminator.

Forgot to report back with my findings:
I think my sister and BIL beat me to the gun case. I only saw 2 shotguns and a rifle. Remington 16 ga. Sportsman 48, Browning 16 ga. Auto-5, and a 30 calibre Carbine. My research has produced less than stellar results. I am finding that the 16 ga. is becoming obsolete. I was in Academy yesterday and couldn't find a cleaning kit or ammo for them. Is this the case?

16 gauge is not real common anymore. I wouldn't say its obsolete, though. Its a great round. I wish I had one.
As far as ammo and cleaning kit goes, you might have to go to Cabelas. Or try a gun store. They can order some for you if they don't already stock it.

A very compact and lightweight semi auto 16 gauge shotgun. 16 Gauge is a little less potent than a 12 gauge for someone just starting out and make a great variation adder to your collection. 16 gauge can be found at most retailers including Walmart and are about the same as 12 gauge in cost. Do not sell the Browning Sweet 16 A-5... That one is special. The Remington you can sell, as it has a little less prestige in the bird world. I'm interested in this .30 Caliber Carbine... If it's SKS, M1 Garand, or an AK styled rifle, I'd like to see it and possibly make you an offer. Holler back.

His browning isn't a sweet 16, just the A5 sixteen gauge. Still pretty valuable but not as valuable as a sweet 16.
We looked it up in the browning book with my neighbor, who is a shotgun collector/expert.

I just cant justify spending 2000 on a break over double barrel. That's insane to me.
