Because Boise only has football, has poor academics (was a JUCO 25 years ago), and Tyler-Longview has a bigger media market.

but your argument is that its how many people tune in.
They get WAY WAY more people to tune in to all their games than tcu does.
Academics isn't a factor. Tceh is in a major conference. OU isn't very good academically, neither is OSU or KSU

Not true. The TCU/Baylor game is the 4th highest rated Friday game ever on ESPN, the highest if you exclude post-Thanksgiving day games.
TCU/SMU on CBSC last year was barely outdrawn by UT/UCLA on ABC.
TCU/Oregon St outdrew Tech/SMU.

Haha. No big time teams play on Friday unless it's the day after thanksgiving.

Hell, they've only had Friday games for a few years.
What a stat! We outdrew most high school games.

Your point was that more people watch Boise. Boise has been on Friday about 15 times the last 3 years.
So you mean to tell me that the Big 12 is fine with losing a Texas team to a conference every kid wants to play for and not replacing that game? They're fine with one less game in Texas and the SEC getting four? They're fine with A&M's recruiting going through the roof and 12 other slimeballs coming to their kids and saying, "hey come play with us. At least you'll get to play in Texas at twice in 4 years. Instead of just your momma and daddy going to see you play a few times a year you can have all your aunts, uncles, cousins, and all your little friends can come see you in College Station twice during your career."
SEC, welcome to Texas. Make yourself at home. We'll be in the recruiting hotbeds of Provo, Louisville, and Morgantown. Call if you need anything.
That kind of thinking got the conference where it is right now.
You don't think the nothern teams wouldn't love a trip to DFW? You think the folks in Manhattan, KS would rather go to Morgantown than Fort Worth?
By my count Baylor has played 6 games in DFW since the breakup of the SWC. They used to play every year. You think they don't want to play in this area every other year? OU would love 6 trips to DFW every 4 years.
OSU, OU, and Baylor have all stated publicly that TCU would be a great addition. Mizzou has hinted just as much.
Texas is the only one that is flat against it and Tech only follows suit because their elephant walking in step with them.

Well, they're gonna add someone for next year. They need to add 3 and get back to 12 once the new commish gets on board. If you're not growing, you're dying.

Exactly. I can't believe DeLOST came out yesterday and said he'd prefer 10. Seriously, if the biggest mooch in the State of Texas is hurting for another 2M a year we have bigger problems than conference affiliations. sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/football/ncaa/09/22/big-12-neinas.ap/index.html?section=si_latestOSU President said TCU, BYU, UH, AFA, and Utah are potential targets. If one word about Utah is uttered in the meetings then the whole thing should just implode. That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. UNT has a better shot at joining the B12 than Utah does of leaving the P12.

Big 12 should rebrand to the Southwest Conference again. Go after Arizona, ASU and TCU or Houston. Get a equal revenue deal and a major TV deal in place. Go with a North/South division split where it shakes out like this.
East - Iowa St, Missouri, Kansas, KState, Oklahoma, OSU West - Arizona, ASU, Tech, Texas, Baylor, TCU/Houston
Once you get all the pieces in place and stabilized, start adding pieces from the Conferences that are falling apart. Maybe New Mexico, BYU, Pull Colorado back in. and divide it East/West.

No one that is already in the PAC12, BIG10, or SEC will leave to come to this mess.

I seriously don't understand why this is so hard for you to grasp. Its very simple. Right now, 10 is better because its simply more money. period.
TCU brings nothing nationally. period. No one watches them. If they add tcu as the 10th school then its because they couldn't get their first few choices.
Stubbs, if you haven't checked lately, Waco is an hour from DFW. I think they're fine where they are.
UofH would be a far better choice if they're as worried about the SEC pilfering their recruits as you seem to think they are. That would be a school IN the battle ground that the SEC would be pillaging.
Also, no offense, but what KSU, KU, and ISU want (in reference to wanting another game in texas) has as much to do with what school they choose as I do. They get no say. Remember, this is the Big 12 we are talking about.
Also, NO team will leave the PAC or any other stable bcs conference to join the Big 12. Not going to happen. If it does, that team's BOR should be shot.

Also, I would LOVE to see these quotes from OU, OSU, and Baylor presidents that says they want TCU. They aren't there. I don't believe this is true at all. I need proof. But again, unless Daddy tu wants tcu, they will not be in the conference.
Also, how has Mizzou "hinted" that they want TCU?

10 is not better because it's unstable. Like I said, if these schools are hurting for an extra 1.5-2M they've got bigger troubles than a TV contract. You've been duped by the bottom line. It's a facade. OSU rebuilt their stadium on the shoulders of an old man. TCU is building their stadium on the shoulders of the vision of a great coach. Texas has a 100M athletic budget. Do really you think 2M makes a damn bit of difference. You're drinking the Kool-Aid if you are. The money is the biggest lie ever told by these schools. Here's OSU's comments: www.tulsaworld.com/sportsextra/OSU/article.aspx?subjectid=93&articleid=20110921_93_0_SILAEh905586T. Boone has also said as much. Let me find the others. Stoops said something just the other day.
