They'll need some help in the conference tournaments to get that seed.

They'll need some help in the conference tournaments to get that seed. Maybe, maybe not. Like I said, it also depends what happens with other teams around the nation. But, if the Ags do take 2 of 3 from the horns they will probably have a top 8 rpi, which is a pretty good indicator of national seed chances.

That, and a lot of people don't think that 4 national seeds will come from one conference. The Big 12 is very respected in the College Baseball world and many believe that the champion will get a national seed with their RPI being what it will be.
I don't really think conference tourney has much to do with it.

There's probably three spots up for grabs right now but if A&M can take 2 of three this weekend they could make it a 4th, depending on what they do in the BX tournament. The BX is round-robin, right? Say they lose 2 of 3 and those 2 are against bad teams? What if they lose three?
Where do you see 4 seeds coming from one conference? Florida, USC, and Vandy are locks from the SEC. UVA and FSU are locks in the ACC. TU is wavering a bit but I think the BX will only get one seed. I don't think Oregon State has a chance. Their positioning in the polls is too erratic and their RPI is really low. I really think ASU will get a seed as well. So that leaves two spots...a Big X and an at-large. TCU is 7-10 in the polls but 15 in RPI. They'll have to sweep this weekend series and go straight through the conference tourney to have any shot. I think Cal-St Fullerton has the best shot at that last position considering they're 12 in RPI and took 2 of 3 from the Frogs in Fort Worth.

The Big 12 tourney went back to double elimination just this year, so that is why I don't think it will be much of a factor. A&M and tu will be the top two seeds, so they should each get a win or two and then after that it doesn't really matter.
Also, polls have zero to do with seeding and regionals. Oklahoma vs A&M is the perfect example. A&M won the season series (in Norman), has a better rpi, better strength of schedule, leads OU by three games in the Big 12, and a better record vs rpi top 50, yet OU is ranked 5-7 spots higher than A&M in most polls. Baseball polls are an absolute joke.
Other than that your post is pretty spot on.

I think they hold some weight but in the case of OU vs. A&M they hold little weight. But in the case of UNC who has a high RPI but a poll composite of 14 it will hurt them. The same goes for Clemson and Georgia Tech. I think Texas, A&M, OU, TCU, CSF, and ASU have a shot at the final three seeds.

The committee has said several times over the years that baseball polls have no factor what so ever in their decision making. They are worthless
The main factors are rpi, SOS, record vs rpi top 50, road record, conference record, conference rpi, along with a few others if some teams are pretty close in those categories.

What is the best website to follow college baseball?

I just follow on the TexAgs Aggie Baseball board. Obviously most of the info is about the Ags, but there are several posters that also post updates and info from around the country.

By the way, I hooked my computer up to my tv so I could watch the game on a real screen. But now I am posting on the board, pretty cool to have a 50 inch computer monitor.

Yeah, I have a 32" computer monitor. We have the low-def DTV tuner on that TV so it's only use is pretty much as a monitor.
Baseballamerica.com has some good stuff. For a phone I use d1baseball.com b/c it's a simple website that can be loaded quickly on a phone. The top 25 scoreboard is updated about every 5 minutes.

Horrible loss for the Ags last night. Rather than give a recap and get all pissed off, I'm just looking forward to the weekend games now. I have no idea why, but for some reason I am optimistic about today and tomorrows games.
